I recently subscribed to Norton Confidential which has just complicated my life. It is idiotic, never bears in mind earlier instructions and just gives me grief.

In addition, I have been trying to do a full system scan and it just blocks after scanning 20 files. And this goes on for hours and hours.

The Norton Web site offers no way of explaining such problems. The usual arrogance of the market leader.
