Worst cruise line
What a floating pile of (&@#!!! This was the worse cruise we have ever been on. The staff and crew are rude (with the exception of our cabin stewards because they wanted their tip). BTW, Norwegian charges $12.00 per person per day gratuity that they don't tell you about in advance as well as an "autogratuity" on any drinks you purchase whether it be Pepsi or alcohol. Therefore, the staff knows they will recieve their tips no matter what for their lousy and rude service.
The ship is awful. It rocked and rolled the whole time we were on it. People on Carnival said theirs never rocked and they were in the same water at the same time as we were. The crew pretends that they cannot speak English so they do not have to answer your questions. And there are plenty of questions as they tell you nothing.
The food is inedible. We lost 10 pounds each while on a 7 day cruise. The entertainment is a joke! $39 for one person to play bingo! The shows are 5th rate.
On our second day, my fiance walked thru the sliding doors to the atrium and was crushed in the doors. Their foreign electricians were working on the doors without roping the area off. She stepped thru after I did and the idiot moved a wire so the doors slammed closed on her. He had to undo the wire to get her out. She has had 3 surgeries on her neck resulting in 4 fused vertibrate. The doors hit her so hard, it knocked her unglasses across the deck. I told him to call someone for help and he pretended to not be able to speak english, turned his back to me and continued working. It was not until I threatened him with bodily harm did he call for help. It was amazing how he understood what I was saying then. I took her straight to the infirmary and the head of security, Mr. Clark, was already there checking on a lady who was crushed by the elevator door. We told him what happened and he immediately went to check. I told him to view the security cameras to ascertain what actually happened. We never saw him again until 4 days later after we repeatedly demanded the incident report promised to us by the front desk. Naturally, the foreign doctor on call had just graduated from what she said was medical school (probably a 6 month course in one of their ports) and was unable or unwilling to do anything for my fiance except give her aleve. After 3 surgeries and 4 fusions, even an embicile knows that she needed anti inflammatories and pain killers!! The second doctor we saw the next day was much better and gave her flexerill. This was after I had to buy her percocet on shore so she could function.
After demanding an incident report for 4 days at the front desk where only one person could communicate to us in broken english, we were taken to Mr. Clark's office. He told us that everything we had said checked out and the injury (I refuse to call it an accident because the idiot working on the door deliberately made the door close on my fiance) happened exactly as we told him. I asked him if he looked at the security tapes and he said that the cameras all pointed inside and the incident would not be on film. No wonder people disappear from these ships and no one knows what happens to them. He refused to give us any report whatsoever as he said it was Norwegian Cruise Line Property. He arrogantly told us to "have our legal team contact his legal team of 500 in Miami". Nuf said?
We talked to several people who were either injured because the elevator doors closed on them (my fiance was not injured by the elevator but by the sliding glass doors on deck 7 leading into the main atrium) or knew of several people who were injured by the doors. We also saw this happen with our eyes. The door closed on me and it took everything I had to push it open. It is no wonder they need a legal team of 500 when their ship is a piece of (@#!. It is important to note that this ship flies under the foreign flag of Nassau so they know a U.S. citizen would have to sue them in an international court and the chances of that happening is slim to none. They can hurt whomever they want with little or no consequences.
Our vacation was ruined because of Norwegian's lousy, rude, incompetant service and staff. This company is the lowest rung on the cruise ship ladder. Do yourself a favor, TAKE ANOTHER CRUISE LINE!
