I have purchased a used sawmill that was manufactured by Norwood Industries. The previous owner had lost the operator manual. I contacted Norwood for a replacement to ensure safe operation and maintenance of this equipment. I have never owned or operated a bandsaw mill and am concerned how to use this piece of equipment safely for myself and others that may need to operate it.
I was informed by Norwood that it is not their responsiblity nor their concern to provide this information. They explained that it was the previous owners responsibility and that they no longer have the manual to operate this piece of equipment. Norwood further explained that for a fee of $45.00 USD they could copy a manual of a similar model. I asked if they could e-mail a scan or pdf and was told that they do not have those capabilities.
My concern is that there is a true safety issue for myself and others that happen upon equipment manufactured by Norwood Industries. I investigated similar equipment from other manufactures (Woodmizer & Stihl) and found that all operating manuals of newer equipment are available imediately on-line & through the mail on older equipment.
