Dear New Car Buyers Beware,
My wife and I wanted to buy a new car . I suggested taking a look at the new 2010 FORD FIESTA. So off to our local ford dealer we go ( NOVA FORD CABOOLTURE). After looking at different models we agreed that the ford fiesta had everything my wife need in a NEW CAR . My wife picked up the car after additional items were completed .. As soon as I arrived home that afternoon I drove it . Well when I drove it, I noticed several major faults with this vehicle . I instructed my wife to ring NOVA FORD CABOOLTURE and make them aware . There response was and I state " that the vehicle was still running in". I disputed this due to the fact that I'm a fully qualified QLD "A" GRADE MOTOR MECHANIC With 28 years experience in the vehicle repair industry. They stated " we will check everything at the first service " 3000 km free service inspection. Well the first service came round and I personally took it there myself. I again told them that nothing had changed and the vehicle performance was now dangerous.. The service was carried out and when it was returned, it drove even worse than before. I ranged the service department the next day and arranged to return it for further diagnosis. On picking the car up, i was told and I state "We are unable to solve the problems and basically all the other FIESTA'S that they had seemed to performed the same". This I totally disputed. I complained that it was not good enough and a further time was arranged 4 weeks later. I made contact with the head technician at NOVA FORD CABOOLTURE and told him what the problem was with the vehicle. My wife delivered the vehicle to NOVA FORD CABOOLTURE and we received a phone call from the service department saying and I state " we've found a major fault with the transmission and was to be repaired under the instructions provided by ford warranty department". This vehicle's transmission was removed and the whole vehicle was pushed outside NOVA FORD CABOOTURE service department work-shop where it stayed in the car-park for approx 6 weeks.. The parts arrived and the transmission was re-fitted. The vehicle was test driven home and back again by the Head technician and was given the all clear to be returned to us. My wife collected the vehicle and drove it 2 times that afternoon. When I arrived home, I test drove the vehicle and immediately noticed that none of the previous faults had been rectified and several other major faults had been induced into it's performance. Long story short, I have contacted NOVA FORD CABOOLTURE service department, NOVA FORD CABOOLTURE dealer principle, FORD CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP CENTRE and now it's in the hands of FORD AUSTRALIA ENGINEERING To try and rectify. But NOVA FORD CABOOLTURE still has our $20000 we paid in cash and also our broken 2010 FORD FIESTA ..
SO the moral of this story never trust that a new car will run lovely, always check it thoroughly . Otherwise you might find yourself on a warranty merry-go-round and at the end of it, the vehicle will be de-valued ..
