I contacted Novelty Central on 1/6/09 relative to my purchase of the software above, after my computer crashed. The program software came with a CD. Instead of providing me with the activation key that is required to reinstall this software, they accused me of installing the software on multiple computers instead of just one and have thus refused to respond to my phone message and emails. I was ultimately required to purchase a new computer because I was not able to restore my old one. CTP Imaging apparently has a problem with software protection and people who are attempting to crack their "key activation" to this software. According to Alpha Supply Co. Inc, the distributor who sold me this product in conjunction with a complete sublimation equipment set up, CTP Imaging is very hard to deal with relative to their "key activation codes". They always assume that customers are attempting to circumvent their software onto multiple computers. There is no disclaimer on their program packaging or their website that implies a customer will have trouble gaining future access to the "activation key" info if a computer crashes or a new purchase is required. The activation key info provided at purchase changes when you get ready to reinstall the CD program onto your new or restored computer. It won't allow you to use the existing key information that you originally installed it with thus making it necessary to contact CTP Imaging. I advised this company that I am a home based operation, do all the designing and printing, have one dedicated sublimation printer and have no reason to install this software on more than one computer. They continue to disregard my need for this activation key and have never contacted me. I am simply a customer who, in good faith, purchased their software, who is now being denied access to the program that I did use in my every day business. I am at a loss as to how to convince this company that I would like to reinstall this software on my new computer. It seems like this company is more than willing to accept your money for their software, but less than interested in helping me conduct my business, using their software. It would seem that their operating practice is to force their customers to continually purchase new software in lieu of giving out the activation key info. Or hope you will get aggravated and "just go away and leave them alone". This company has been reported here before (Online Complaints Board - 2007) for the exact same issue that I am having (see below). How are companies like this allowed to do business with the unsuspecting general public?

Beware of CTP publishing!

The business is called CTP, and I believe it is located in Colorado. They sell a program called Novelty 8, Novelty 8 Pro, and Mural 8. When you purchase their product, they have to give you a key to get the program to print. I paid $300 for this program, and about six months later, I had a computer problem which forced me to reinstall their program. I purchased the program from one of their distributors. After calling and begging for them to give me another key, they finally did. About six months after that, I got a new computer, and again needed the key. After begging again, and faxing them a copy of my sales receipt, they again finally gave me the key. This key did not work, so i emailed them advising them of this. They did not respond after several emails. The name of the most ignorant of them is "Randy". I currently cannot run the program, and am finally going to take the loss and not call or email them again. Consumers
"Beware" of CTP publishing, they are no good.
