Bad Service
You'd better be careful if you go there. They are terrible. They'll try to take all of your money, do a bad job and when you bring the car back they still won't fix it. They got me for close to 3000.00 and the car still has to be fixed.

Terrible service
When I moved from Stoneham. MA (where I went to the NTB in Woburn, MA) to Newburyport, I started to go to the NTB in Seabrook. The manager is "Ed, " and he seems always to be there. Last weekend I brought my car in for road vibrations that occurred after they rotated the tires. I left the car at 7AM, indicating I needed to pick it up by 4PM. The called me at 2PM to say that they fixed the vibration problem (rebalancing the tires) and that I needed a new serpentine belt for $120. Fine, I said. Fine, they said and told me the car would be ready at 3:30. When I arrived at 6:00 PM, the car was not finished - still need an alignment, and was not finally ready until 6:30 PM!
Kicker? When I drove away, the car still vibrated. Issues: (1) no one could have road tested that car as they told me the did; (2) no one communicated through the day that the car was not ready; (3) when I called "Ed" the next day, the only explanation he offered was that they were "very busy because of their 2-for-1 sale; (4) When I asked for the name of the district manager, Ed told me "Steve Solomon." and that Ed would have him call me on Monday 3-21-2011. As of today, I have heard nothing. And "Ed" is now on vacation until the end of next week.
The shop is disorganized, and dirty, with cardboard and tools and packaging lying around. Employees step over this stuff rather than pick it up. Their process for moving the work through the shop does not work.
They won't get more business from me. Stay away. You have been warned.

car repair
I went to have my care fixed because it would not start. I called the NTB store in advance to see if they worked on VW's the store manager stated that they did. I arrived at the store and they started working on my car. They stated that it must be the battery. They placed a new battery and the car still did not start. Then they stated that it must be something more. So we will try a tune- up. I stated to the manager are you sure that this is the issue. Manager stated that he was not sure but he would take care of me if it was not the problem. They did the tune up, but the car was still doing the same thing that it did when I brought it to the location. After sitting for hours waiting on a response or event an idea about what was happening they stated that it must be an electrical problem. I stated that I need to take may car to the VW place. They would not release my car until I paid. I asked the sales rep if I go to the VW place and they work on my car what type of reimbursement do you do. The sales rep stated that they would review the service provided by VW and compare if the same things were done. I asked for all of my parts that were removed. They had the worst customer service in the world they don’t tell you anything for hours and when they do they act as if you owe them something. They are unable to state if they cannot do something they would prefer to rip off the customer and lie about things later.

unethical upselling
While getting 4 new Michelins the mechanic wanted to replace my almost dead battery before I found myself stranded somewhere. I took my Camry to a dealership but they found nothing wrong (and it was still working just fine over a year later). Within 4-5 months I got a flat that couldn't be repaired - the garage that checked it said the hole was huge. i took it to ntb looking for a free replacement under warranty but they tried blaming me for hitting a pothole, which wasn't the case, & said they would sell me another tire at cost for $90 (I paid just a little more than that originally). I've hit some huge potholes with mediocre tires over the years which has never caused a flat, yet one of the best tires I've ever purchased gets a huge hole in it just a few months later? I told them if I did buy a replacement tire it wouldn't be from them but finally accepted their offer of $50 for a new one. I will never go back & have told everyone this story. I suspect it's ntb's policy to upsell (read "scam") their customers, especially females, in general.

DID NOT DO WORK
BEWARE! CROOKS AND THIEVES
Went in for an oil change and even took in them the synthetic oil and filter to use. Noticed the oil light was still on so I figured they forgot to reset it so I did that. Boy was I wrong! Less than 2000 miles later the turbo bearing went out and the dealer stated the oil had not been changed. 5, 000 after the "oil change that never was" the motor was replaced due to "catastrophic internal bearing failure" Of course NTB states there isn't any proof and denied any responsibility.

Pressured teenager into buying tires
I had my teenage daughter take her car (acutally my car) to have the left front tire looked at due to slow leak. Employees convinced her "tire wear was causing poor mileage, no leak, needed new tires and alignment. She got scammed into buy 2 tires for $457 dollars. They ignored my daughters request to keep old tires thinking we could sell if they weren't actually bad. Old tires were gone when I arrived to complain, mgr was gone, and got no satisfaction. After talking to my daughter determined the asst manager lied since he wasn't actually there when pressure sale happened, but since old tires are gone don't have much recourse. I have purchased several sets of tires from NTB and received good service but based on this nightmare, my family will never purchase anything from NTB or it's sister companies.

Store Manager
Here is a copy of the body of my complaint letter to them:
Dear Sir or Madam:
First off, I want to tell you how sorry I am that I have to write this email. I know that more often than not, customers only let you know about bad customer service, not the good. I am very sorry, but I am so angry that I feel I have to bring a customer service issue to your attention.
My husband is currently having his tire repaired at your Seabrook, NH location. To make a long story short, your Seabrook, NH location is so short staffed today that he is expected to either wait "a couple of hours" or put a tire on himself. I spoke to Ed Schwin, on the phone, who says he is the manager and he had the worst customer service in the world. He told me that he has been in since 6:30 AM and that he guesses if my husband wants his tire put on that he will make himself and others stay late to do it, and make other customers wait. He said that he has one guy on today because someone called in sick and that if I drive by, I can see that he is short staffed and has a hiring sign out front. I explained to him that my husband is not mechanically inclined and that he drives our toddler to daycare, so the tire needs to be put on the car properly. He asked me what I wanted him to do about it. I asked for the home office phone number. He refused to give it to me. This is not acceptable customer service. I told him that I was going to call your Newington, NH store and I rudely (sorry) hung up. Tim (?) over in Newington said he could have my husband in and out in under an hour. I told him that time is not of the essence, but that safety is. I called my husband back and he told me that Seabrook was currently putting the tire on. I felt bad and told him not to use the coupon he has and to pay full price for the tire plug.
My husband was disparaged in front of other customers. Another customer was told, with my husband standing there, that he had to wait while they put the tire on my husband's car. It appears that the woman he said that to was only dropping her car off, as she handed the keys over to Ed. He did that to be difficult and try to embarrass my husband. Ed Schwin refused to take money from my husband. He stated that he didn't need the money that bad. He also stated that he is 53 years old and that he has worked over 100 hours in the past ten days. He also stated that if anything, he is owed an apology.
Why, am I, the customer, supposed to feel badly that a store is understaffed and expects its customers to do part of the job that they have been hired to do? Why do I have to hear about the understaffing and hiring issues of the store? Why do I have to be so grateful for the store taking the time out of its busy day to do work for us, that I beg my husband not to use a coupon? This is ridiculous.
We take two of our vehicles to both your Seabrook, NH and Newington, NH stores. My Chevrolet has odd-sized SUV tires and you guys are the only ones around to ever have them in stock, and you have them at the cheapest price. You beat out BJ's on the price! You have the least expensive oil changes around. Because of this, we will continue to do business, but I sincerely hope that customer service in Seabrook, NH is improved.

not paid judgement
I took my car for radiator and heating problem to NTB. The service was not performed to my satisfaction. I took NTB to small claims court in Lyndhurst, Ohio and got rewarded $ 350 plus $70 court cost and 5% interest per annum. NTB refused to pay. I wrote a letter to their headquarter in Florida, but got no response eithere. Then I went back to Lyndhurst court to garnish their bank account. The total amount per court paper be then was $459.38 That included the additional court filing. That did not result in any payment either.
I don't know where to go from here. I thought that the headquarter was TBC Corporation, 7111 Fairway Drive, Suite 201, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33418.

Fraud
I took my car in for a wheel alignment. I received a call from Nick Villareal. He told me the front wheel bearings needed to be replaced. He said they would cost $400 each. This seemed high, but since the car was there, I agreed. He later told me that the struts also needed to be repaired at a cost of $207 each. So, I was expecting to pay about $1200. I almost had a heart attack when presented with a bill for $2000. After seeing that my wife and I were extremely angry at his deception, he lowered the price to $1558. If he could lower the price so quickly, imagine the markup he was making. He told me that he was selling the parts at cost and challenged me to go to any auto parts store to verify. I did. The bearings were $229.99 compared to their cost of $339. The struts were $126.99 compared to their cost of $207. So with the price I was expecting to pay at $2000 they would still be making close to $500 profit. Worse, the noise that I took the car in for was still there.
I took it to the dealer to have him look at it. They told me that NTB had been unethical because the bearings would have been under warranty. I went back and spoke to the NTB manager, Fernando Garcia. All he did was say he was sorry...but that he was there to make money!!!
NTB will not make any money from me or any one I can influence again.

DESTROYED MY TRANSMISSION
On 7/18/2010 i went to the NTB located at 6700 Schrock court in Columbus Ohio to get a new tire and an oil change. The service was completed and I picked my vehicle up . While driving home I noticed that the transmission was shifting a little funny but I didn't think much about it until later in the evening I tried to go to the grocery store and as I was exiting my complex the transmission slipped and the shifting was very abnormal. The next day I called the NTB store and told them what happened and Larry told me to bring the vehicle back and they would take a look at it. I brought the car back but the manager Joe told me that he "visually" checked the transmission fluid and it seemed to be at an adequate level and he asked that i leave the vehicle there for another day so the master technician could look at it. I wasn't satisfied with that answer so i called 2 certified audi repair shops and they both said that there is no way to properly check the transmission fluid without the proper equipment because the car has to be connected to a computer and there is a special procedure to do so. both of the the certified audi repair shops also said that due to the design of the audi an inexperienced mechanic or one that isn't too familiar with Audis may have mistakenly drained the transmission fluid because of the location of the transmission fluid plug. After learning that I picked up the car and took it too A Team Transmissions 614 848-8484, who specialize in transmissions and have all the equipment to properly diagnose the problem. I later found out that the transmission HAD been drained of all the fluid . It was missing 5 quarts of transmission fluid and is now ruined and requires repairs in excess of $3000.00. I contacted Joe, the manager at the NTB location but he refuses to try and resolve the situation.
