I walked into this store and from the beginning I should have realized that as a customer I would not be taken care of properly. The place was pretty disgusting with food lying around, paper landslides, ...one of the owners eating corn-on-the-cob right in front of my face at the service desk while my iPod was getting serviced.
My iPod's ear jack was only playing from 1 ear. They said that they would fix it for $50 (52.19 / tax) and that they fix ear docks all of the time. Usually if a customer receives service, policy should be: money back/no pay or some sort of refund (if paid in advanced) if the item isn't working properly for them. They wouldn't lie about it not working properly.
For me, after the "fix" my iPod was still low in one ear and high in the other (right side) The manager continued to argue with me, that the sound in both ear buds were level, although it was clearly obvious, it wasn't. He exclaimed that I was too sensitive.
I wanted to get out of there so fast that I ended up paying them remaining, incredibly Zen about the entire interaction... yet unhappy with an iPod left the same way I came in with it.
The older gentleman who walked in behind me had issues with his computers RAM, and Video... he wasn't very computer savvy, and most of us aren't, that's why we want to go to our neighborhood stores (instead of BestBuy) and trust that we are in good hands. They told him "we're going to do something to your computer to fix your video, forty dollars, " he had issued plugging his video up to his TV. He says okay then asks ... "what about making it faster?" keep in mind this gent. is about 60-65 years old... the woman says "yeah yeah, we could do something, that will be eighty dollars!" without telling him what they were going to do or explaining to him WHY his computer was running slow or what was up with his video. They were just throwing digits at him, he was a huge dollar sign for them. One good thing is that they said if it doesn't work they will not charge him (that was fair, this is not written down anywhere but if it applied to this issue it should apply to my ipod problem as well right?) I hope they honored their word.
So the older gent, kind of confused about all of these numbers being thrown at him, but in trust says OK and waits patiently for their repair. I walk out peeved and have contacted Better Business Bureau. I know that we are in a recession but dang! ...We need to be kind to each other and help our neighbor out selflessly.
I just had to put this review out there for other folks in the area looking for computer support. I'm not sure what NPI computer is good for, but really question them before getting anything serviced there.
