negligence
Not enough has been done to protect the elderly from substandard care in this facility which is a type of negligence. The state survey demonstrates years of non-compliance with the regulations that are in place to protect the residents but this company continues to operate several facilities that are constantly in trouble. It is a for profit company that has been allowed to continue to misuse the system and gets away with it. Even though there have been an enormous number of complaints. These complaints stem from the staff, visitors, and residents alike. The state will look into it and slap them maybe on the wrist but continues to allow them to operate. The building itself is full of asbestos, mold and other hazards not to mention having to frequently use space heaters to try to keep the place warm. They fix only what the state can see when they come in. Staff tends to be afraid of loosing their jobs and only report when they feel that they will not get caught. These problems have been reported to the state, EPA and others with little if any action. The meals are lacking and now the newest event is to cut the budget even further for food and other needed items. There have been times when residents have been without needed supplies for personal care. These items are not looked at nor are they taken into consideration during surveys. We are way past the years that our elderly population should have to worry about this type of care so why is not more done for these set of problem facilities. It really doesn't take a rocket scientist to see these types of problems when surveying and should the laws be clear enough that something could be done. Don't get me wrong there are some wonderful facilities out there but don't let these types continue. I will not post any pictures at this time but there is proof available. All that really needs to be done is to really take a look and I mean a real look!
