Fraudulent extension
On Feb 12, 2008 I received a telephone call from Penny, a collection agent for Nuvell. I was told that I was behind in my payment and that my only option at that time was to catch up the payments(2) or complete a form for extension. After a heated disrespectul conversation with Penny. I agree to complete the extension. She explained to me that she would fax the form to me at home and that although the form states "Your next regularly secheduled payment $$$$ will be due on 03/04/08", my payment was not due until April 2008. I went on and may a payment in March 2008 just to be ahead of the game and every payment since then. However, upon speaking with Penny on today (05/19/08) she could only offer me an apology. The purpose of me making my payment in March was so I could stay ahead of my payment just in case of a financial emergency. However, instead of being ahead, I am not behind and looking at late fees being added to that.
Is there anyone out there who know how I can handle this situation?

Deceptive phone practices
This company is up to no good and needs to be shut down! Last year they called a friend of mine. They told her they were trying to reach someone for a reference on another couple. The name of the person they said they were trying to reach happens to be my niece. My girlfriend got them off the phone and immediately called me. I had never heard of the company, nor had I heard of the person who they were trying to get a reference on. I thought it was strange, but I just shrugged it off. Today a similar thing happened. They called a friend of mine. This time the name of the person they said they were trying to reach happens to be my sister! They said they were trying to reach her to get a reference on this couple who had applied for a loan. My sister had never heard of the couple before, neither had my friend, nor have I. Furthermore, I have never had dealings with Nuvell so I don't know how they just happen to have phone numbers and names of people that I'm either related to or associated with. Isn't there something that can be done about this?

Credit fraud!
I had a car repossessed by Nuvell in 2001. Nuvell put a debt on my credit report of 3, 000.00 to try and get me to pay for a reimbursement check they received from an insurance company that paid for damages on my car after one of their insuree's hit my car. Nuvell claimed that the check was accidentally put into my account (but it never was), and has been trying to collect on it. I made complaints to Equifax, Transunion, and Experian. Equifax and Transunion took the fraudulent debt off my credit report, but Experian sold the information (i didn't know that Experian never had it), to Nuvell, and refuse to take it off, up to this day. When I write and ask Nuvell to show proof that the check was put into my account, Nuvell will not respond, and continue to leave the debt on my credit report. I told this to Experian and they still refuse to take it off my credit report. Buyer beware, because Nuvell will commit consumer fraud against you if they can get away with it.

Constant phone calls
I have no account with the above company. They call me all hours of the day and night. My name was given as a reference for someone else, but I am getting the calls. I have reported this company through the FTC because I am on the "Do Not Call Registry", but it has not stopped the phone calls. I have told them on many occasions not to call me concerning another individuals credit worthiness. Nothing seems to work with this company to get me off their call list. Please help.

Final days of loan
Nuvell Financial Services - www.nuvell.com
I purchased a car that was financed through Nuvell back in 2002. My payments were 332.01. Over the years I have deferred payments three times. My Auto loan would have been paid off in Sept this year if it were not for the derred payments. My husband and I decided to go ahead and send them extra money each month to get the last little bit paid off sooner. I have sent them $1651.00 in less than 2 months. The last payment of 350.00 they received on Nov 15th. I got a call today stating that I owed $960.00 due now. I told the girl on the phone that my payments were 332.00 and she told me my payments are 960.00. I asked to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor got on the phone and told me that all of my deferred payments were due now in one lump sum. I explained that I was never told the deferred payments would all be due at the end of the loan in one lump. She said " We don't have to tell you". I told her to send me something in writing stating that this is their policy. I also went over all the payments I have made to them thinking that I was paying them off faster not knowing that the terms of my contract changed with the deferred payments. Now we are having to get a loan for this $960.00 to pay off a car that I have worked hard to pay on for over 5 years before they repo it.

Money stealing, customer cheating
My husband have a car finance by Nuvell Financial Services at P.O. Box 7100, Little Rock, AR.72223. The problem we are experiencing with this company is that they are telling us that they have not receive our car payment. We have had this problem twice with them. I even have receipt where payment has been made. I don't know what is going on with this company. I feel they either is lying, or trying to cheat customers out of more money or someone within their company is stealing or trying to embezzle money.
This situation is ruining our credit. It is hurting the customers. I have read where they have done this same thing to other customers. Something is gonna have to be done about this. Some investigating and some charges gonna have to be brought against this company. I cannot continue to be with a finance company that I cannot trust. If anyone can offer some information of help, please e-mail me and if you are experiencing the same thing with this same financial company. What they are doing are not right!

Harassment, lies, threatening and more!
The company is doing the same to us as we have read on many complaint boards. We have been with them for almost 3 years now and we are 31 days late on our account due to a layoff and my son's heart condition. We got a new rep this month. The old rep was wonderful to work with if he had to call, which he did due to the hurricanes we had and a sinkhole under the home. Now the new rep and his manager are threatening to take the truck by the end of the month unless we get them the past due amount in 7 days. (total days will be at 38 days past payment due date) The manager I was transfered to would not give me her last name nor transfer me to another manager when I asked, nor would they let me speak with the old rep who said I could transfer back to him if they started giving me a problem for such a short time of being late on the payment and trying to work a deal, I informed them that I could make 2 payments within 30 days, but could not make the one in 7 days. (This was ok'd by our old rep on day 30) The manager said they would garnish wages, or 1099, but they would get the money for the truck. I told her I could make 2 payments within 15-30 days, but not the one they wanted in the 7 days due to the payment schedule that unemployment had me on. She asked where the truck was. She was VERY careful not to use the word repossess, just stated things would be taken care of. She told me how she worked 2 jobs to support her mom who had cancer all while taking care of her 2 year old son, so I could and should not say anything about my situation, I needed to not pay a electric bill, mortgage or something and pay them. I re-enforced my son's heart issue and she was very rude repeating the above.
STAY CLEAR! Even though we have an extension left, they will not let us use it. And YES, they call 15+ times a day, from 8 am - 9pm (all legal there), but they call all numbers listed, neighbors who are not, etc. They do not leave messages or numbers on their calls until almost 30 days, sometimes past that. The new rep we had, on the 18th and 20th of this month, finally left messages saying he had repeatedly attempted to contact, action would be taken that would be detrimental, etc. That is when I contacted my old rep and was told that prior to 30 days, phone calls like that are not acceptable and that those calls are for 60-120 day people, not at all before we were 30 days late. No wonder he is leaving the company. He has people skills and tries to help. He said as long as we made to 2 payments in August, it would be fine, now what he stated is overruled.
VERY unprofessional, rude and we would never go with them again, and will warn anyone we can about this company. Almost feel like giving them the truck, but life has made your credit more important and frankly at the rates they charge at finance and the approx. $5 a day late fees for every day past your due date, what you owe them is not what the vehicle is worth so they said they would get that from us too.
Please stay clear or pray you never go late on a payment do to any act of god or nature!

Rude , disrespectful customer service!
My husband and I financed a vehicle for 60 months through Nuvell in June of 2003. We have been paying faithfully through April 2007, until my husband suffered a heat attack. He required quadruple bypass surgery on April 11. On May 4, 2007 two of the bypasses collapsed, causing a second heart attack. This required the placement of two scents on May 5, and an additional two stents on May 25,2007. He is currently disabled and unable to work until at least September of 2007. We have tried to work out and agreement with Nuvell to accept partial payments until my husband returns to work. Nuvell refuses to cooperated. They have made threats to repossess the car unless we make full payments. My husband is receiving only 40% of his pay through his employers STD plan. (I have been unable to work myself for the last to years due to a crippling autoimmune disorder and severe arthritis in my knees and back.)I have an SSDI hearing coming up in three weeks. When my husband stated to Nuvell's customer service rep. that I could not work because I had "bad knees" the women remarked very sarcastically, "Bad knees shouldn't stop your wife from finding a sit down job somewhere?" "Just tell us where OUR car is so we can come and get it?"I find this kind of customer service rude, disrespectful and very unprofessional. I urge anyone to avoid financing through Nuvell.

Customer harassment
I purchased a vehicle through a auto dealer and they went through Nuvell Financial to finance me because I had some slow payments in the past. Within 6 months, my child got sick and had to be back and forth to the hospital, which lasted for about 5 months. During this time, my payments were late going to Nuvell, never past the 30 mark. However, with Nuvell you interest is compounded daily and at the rate of a credit card. I contacted one of their representatives and explained to them the situation. I explained that I had to take excessive time off from work and since I was not working, I was not getting paid. They did not want to hear it. They just kept insisting that I either make a payment or turn the vehicle over to them. After the third month of at least 8 calls a day, to my home, my job, my cell phone, my mother's house and even to a friend's house that I had listed as a personal reference, I called and told them that I would be happy to turn the car over to them, just to let me know where to take it. I was told they did not want the car and they would be happy to work with me. I asked if there was any way to have my due date changed since I have finally gone back to work full time and my pay is now back to full pay, and I was told that I would have to pay current for 12 months before it would be considered. So, once again, I am paying my payment before the 30 day mark, with at least 8 phone calls a day, even after I talk with them. The Fair Debt Collection Act needs to be enforced on these people. And, if you aren't familiar with the FDCA, you really do need to pull it up online.

Nuvell has screwed and harassed me!
I purchased a vehicle 2 years ago (at the age of 19) from Ghent Chevrolet in Greeley, CO. Of course, I was a first time buyer, my credit was very limited. However, I still wanted to own a Chevrolet Colorado. After the t's were crossed and the i's were dotted, Nuvell financed the truck at an ungodly interest rate; I was 19, all I cared about was the monthly payment. I had an awesome job at the time, making more money than most teenagers only dreamed of... and college was something I hadn't even considered. So naturally, the payments were made on time at $400 a month. To make a long story short, it's 2 years later, I'm 21, and doing everything I can to go to school. I've just recently gotten behind on my payments, and I get calls on my cell phone 15+ times a day from Nuvell. They've even called my work! They're doing nothing to work with me. As a matter of fact, a very rude individual called me this evening with an ultimatum: "I leave the office in 40 minutes, I need the payment by then. End of conversation!" Click. Nuvell has screwed me, harassed me, and is about to screw me once more. I advise those of you reading not to do business with this finance company, they're very unprofessional to say the least.
