Termination of my Section 8
Last year when my daughter ran away, November 2009, I reported it to Section 8 which was at that time located at One Forhdam Plaza. I did the right thing and reported it to them. I gave in documents which they stamped and told me everything was o.k. They even accepted last years recertification and send me my new rent on April 2010. Now a whole year passes by and now I am receiving letters that section is about to terminate my section 8, because I never reported this change. The problems is that Section 8 office moved ooffices on January 2010 to a new location at 478 e. Forhdam Rd. They use to be at One Forhdam Plaza. They lost my papers when they moved. I was told this by Ms. Haysworth at Section 8 office. I have gone on several occasions in person to their office to fix this problem and I get no help what so ever. I have even mailed the documents on certify mail, which they send for it two or three times and they keep saying I have not submitted the documents. The telephone number they give you to call is always busy, or they never pick up and if you are lucky to get a human they switch you to another line and you get disconnected. They are now going to terminated my Section 8. I am in desperate need of your help, I cant afford to loose my Section 8 that I have had foe 19 years, because i will be in the streets. I have a daughter that lives with me. Section 8 wants me to submitted papers of where is the daughter that ran away, but I keep telling them how can I submit papers of her where abouts if I cant find her. I even went to the police staion to see if they can help me and they told me there is nothing they can do, because my daughter was 20 yrs. old when she ran away. i even gave Section 8 the paper the police gave me. Some in the police station gave me her name and told me tell Section 8 to call me and I will tell them there nothing we can do, your daughter was an adult when she left home. I had reported this incident to Section *, medicaid and food stamps. Nobody had a problem with it untill now that Section 8 is harassing me and telling me I never told them and they are about to terminate my Section 8. Please help me before I land in the sreets with my daughter. The staff in the 478 E. Forhdam Rd, do not help me when I have gone there over six or more times to fix this problem. I even asked for a conference hearing in which they gave me a slip for this, but today 2-8-11 I went in to their office, because I received a ceritied mail letter statingNotice of Default: temination of Section 8 subsidy, and the responses I got from Ms. Shaw was, your conference is not in the computer, we just got new computers on January 31, and alot of files must of erased. So now I had to ask for another fair hearing today. I have written letters certify to the housing manager Ms.M Walder and another housing manager Ms. Elliot Lautestein and I have gotten no help what so ever, all I get from them is my section 8 is going to be terminated. PLEASE HELP ME. iT WOULD BE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED. mY PHONE NUMBER IS 1-646-670-6541.
