for well over a year now, the new york city mta has closed one particular exit at 59th street and columbus circle. this exit is actually fully functional and very conveniently located. why it remains closed is a mystery.
on a couple of occasions i have exited thru that gate. while a couple of workers did comment to me that this exit was closed, they did not stop me. on two other occasions, i also entered thru that gate. i was careful to use the actual card reader so that nobody could complain that i was not paying for my ride. the entry gate accepted my card and opened the turn style for me.
so. if this entry/exit point works, why are we not allowed to use it? the nearest exit is inconveniently located so that people have to cross busy city streets to access it.
i wonder if anyone is listening to this out there.. ??
