Oak Harbor Freigth Lines damaged my shipment then told me it could be 30-120 days before they even make a decision whether or not to pay! They then tried to charge me $200-$300 more because the driver altered the bill of lading (against their own company policies!), and made the shipment of 2 crates into 2 shipments of 1 crate!
Then, after the receiver refused the shipment due to damage, their partner freight lines tried to tell me that the receiver refused it not due to damage, but because of poor welding, however, the receiver provided me with a written statement that this was NOT true! Then Dayton freight, their partner line that has the shipment, is telling me that they are charging me a daily fee for "storage" of the damaged shipment, that they will auction it off in 30 days to the public, and that it will cost me over $2000 to have the shipment returned to me. Meanwhile I am in NC and the damaged shipment is in Ohio, and the claim still isn't resolved. Do not use Dayton Freight Lines or Oak Harbor Freight Lines.
