did not receive rebate as promised
I requested a wireless router while ordering internet service with a local company. I was guaranteed a $50 rebate on the equipment required. Days later, I contacted the provider, and was instructed to, "request the rebate over the internet on rebate.offerwire.com." Several attempts were made on my behalf to request for the rebate, but were redirected to other sites that weren't beneficial at all. I still have not been contacted by anyone to obtain my rebate in which I was promised upon signing up for equipment.

No rebate paid
I signed up for Comcast Cable service expecting to get a free modem. Free after the rebate that is. This company is in business to NOT give rebates. They put so many restrictions and hoops you have to jump thru to get a rebate. They have your purchase information but that isn't enough. You're required to have 2 Comcast bills, the UPC code off the box, and on and on. Then there's a 90 day restriction. You have to get the right form in the right month and it is so confusing that it isn't worth the trouble because they refuse payment. This is a big scam. It is either unethical, illegal or bad business...or all of the above. Don't fall for products promising rebates. I wouldn't recommend D-Link modems or Comcast for supporting such scam artists!

Not Honoring Rebate
I ordered Triple Play service from online comcast authorized retailer in October 2010. Due to some contractor mis-scheduling I did not have my service activated until day after thanksgiving 2010. Comcast had to run a new wire since the house we moved into had not previously had cable. We had no television for a few weeks during our move, but we did have netflix.

The order included a rebate for $250 and the details were sub, it within 90 days of order, copy two bills, and submit confirmation email. When I received my second bill, I realized I lost my confirmation code so I called offerwire. Offerwire gave me code however said my rebate was void since i had waited over 90 days to submit it. They took my initial order date in october, not the end of november.

I have politely called the company several times and have been promised calls back by a "manager" which never happened. On the fifth call, I was finally told that a manager has reviewed the compaint. I was given a case # and told to fax all documents. Problem solved right, WRONG!!! The number they gave me did not exist, and whan I called back I was given a different fax number which also did not work. If I m not able to resolve this issue by March, I will strongly consider contacting an attourney that deals with fraud, since the second conversation was taped.

Rebate
I ordered Time Warner internet services through this company on 8-30-10, thinking at first that I was dealing with Time Warner. The service representative said that I could have Road Runner for 34.95 for 12 months along with a free D-Link router worth $50 after rebates . She said that I would also get free Superpass for one month for downloading music from Real.com. I told the lady that I was not interested in the music and that she should take off the Superpass from the order. I told her this a couple of times to make sure that she understood and each time she assured me that she had removed the Superpass from the order. But she told me that now instead of the full $50 I would only get $40 in rebates. After complying with all the requirements for getting the rebate and mailing the forms required through registered mail (another waste of money), I found today 11-13-10 that not only was my rebate request rejected, but that the "Superpass" music company Real.com had also charged me for their services after the expiry of the one month free service. Offerwire has committed a serious breach of trust by giving my credit card information to a third party, whose services I did not even need. It seems this company is either loaded with fraudulent or very highly incompetent people. Now I am seriously considering even severing my links with Time Warner, for conducting business though Offerwire.

Never delivered promised rebate
I submitted an order for Comcast service through Offerwire, and was promised a free modem with rebate as well as a rebate for ordering Comcast TV + Internet (double play). After a week with no modem arriving, I called to check on the status only to find out that my order had been cancelled. I spent many hours on the phone with different reps, and never was successful getting a supervisor on the phone. Was given the following reasons for the cancellation from different reps:
1) I cancelled the order (did I really? did I forget to tell myself this?)
2) I already had comcast service (I did not, I ordered service after my Offerwire order had completed and under their explicit instruction)
3) My order was cancelled because the modem was not compatible and it would not be fair to charge me for an incompatible modem (then why is it still offered on the offerwire site? calling comcast tech, they said a list of compatible modems is available and includes over 1, 000 models -- of course Offerwire had no response to this)
4) I had TV service, so I should redo my order only for internet (I was not told this before, and NO I did not have TV service before ordering with Offerwire)

In the end I was not charged anything, but I still feel cheated as I am now subscribed to comcast without any rebates, and I cannot now apply for any other rebate offers from different companies since I do have service now.
NEVER EVER EVER deal with anything from www.offerwire.com! Waste of life!!

Close to fraud
Offerwire provides buying incetives for companies like Charter Communications, Comcast, Netflex and many others. They provide incentives (rebates) as a reward to subscribing to services or purchasing products. If you see Offerwire on anything - RUN!
I made the mistake of ordering Charter service through Offerwire in May 2010. It is now late September 2010 and still no rebates. What's worse is that they require documents to submit for the rebate that you won't have. I had to contact them numerous times and until I got ugly, received no response.
They claim my rebates are actually in process and I will receive them. The earliest one will mail is October 14th!
They really don't want to pay the rebates and I believe they wait until you may forget about the rebate before they even consider processing. I wonder if I'd ever receive the rebates if I didn't call frequently.

Offerwire = rip off! Order through another source.

difficulty getting rebate
I ordered internet service through offer wire/ bridgevine. the ISP was TWC, but offerwire had a promo for $40 rebate on a wireless router which I was made to pay $50 + $14 (shipping and handling - ridiculous! for normal shipping which cost them $5) + tax = $70 (the custmer service told me I would get a free router- its not so free now!)
I filled in the forms and sent them to offerwire and they sent me a link to status check the rebate.
I found that they claimed I had not send them an order confirmation number (which was on the receipt I had sent them)
I called them (and acted stern after browsing through other offerwire complaints) - 1st the customer service guys was like - I dont see the confirmation # in your rebate filing - so I asked him if he was looking at the envelop I sent him or at a database someone from their side filled and noted that the # was missing - he said was looking at a database. I told him look at the envelop - he said he did not have access to that. I said - I will give you the #.. write it down. he said he cant alter the rebate filing... after a little heat from my side - suddenly he could find the # on his own and could alter my rebate's filing... and he said the rebate check will arrive in 6-8 weeks... still waiting ... still keeping the option of cancelling the credit card payment for the router open!

Fraud
Like many others who have posted Offerwire complaints, they presented themselves as if they were Comcast (from which I was trying to order Internet service) and duped me into buying a modem and router) on the promise of rebates that will cover virtually the entire cost. When trying to obtain the rebate, the site then asks for information that Offerwire (which was acting as if it were Comcast) never gave...so, voila, no rebate.

After contesting the charge, I was stunned to learn today that VISA and the bank that issues my credit card, US Bank, see no problem with what Offerwire is doing.

According to the Cardmember Service person at US Bank, they and VISA see no basis for action against an entity that systematically deceives consumers into believing that they are dealing with one entity (in my case Comcast) when in fact the entity is Offerwire.

The Cardmember Service person made it clear that, no matter how many times Offerwire pulls this off, "it is the consumer's responsibility to know who they are dealing with" and US Bank and VISA do not consider it to be any kind of fraud if Offerwire successfully presents itself as Comcast.

So Offerwire appears to have developed the perfect fraud--one that VISA and US Bank support.

If any class action lawsuit is initiated against Offerwire, please post the details on this site so that I can join in.

Return
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH OFFERWIRE!

The modem I ordered turned out not to be compatible with my Comcast connection. When I called Offerwire to get return instructions, I got "the run around". They wanted to trouble shoot the modem!!! I told them, "there's nothing wrong with it, it just doesn't work with my system". Then I was told I couldn't get a refund but I could exchange it for the same modem...these people are idiots!!! After going round and round with the person I was talking to; I asked to speak to his supervisor. ( I think) they just put some random employee on the phone who spoke in a thick accent that I could not understand. Long story short, I didn't get anywhere with the supervisor (because I couldn't understand him) and I still have the modem.
