return and repair of computer
I purchased a desk top computer and fax machine for a new business I have opened 45 miles from the Office Depot. The printer stopped working after 2 weeks of purchase. I called and was told there is nothing they can do for me. Next I had problems with the new HP desktop computer. I took it back to get it looked at based on a sign on the store stating computer repair. I paid $160 for the store to remove a virus. The problem was not solved at that point. I was as told I should have gotten warranty. I now have to send the computer to HP and be without a computer for about 4 weeks. The policies at Office depot are misleading. Make sure you read the fine print and policy. It is locate near the register. I will not shop at Office depot again. I am telling all my friends and business associates. Thanks for listening. I am so disappointed and now out of money i could not afford to loose.

Fake Delivery
To Whom It May Concern,

I will never ever order from Office Depot again. I ordered on September 1st and 2nd and was told that my items would be delivered by September 3. I even received an e-mail stating that my items were sent to the school I work at. What a lie! I had to call and ask where was my order. I was given the nonsense of something happened with the warehouse. However, no one evercalled to state that there were any issues. At this point I have three confirmation e-mails for each order. This is utterly ridiculous!! Is this how paying customers, are to be treated?

Accused of stealing 6 photocopies
I went in to Office Depot to test out several of their laser and ink jet machines. I needed to find one that was extremely accurate in color. I teach high school art and sometimes have the students copy from a photo. What good is it if the photo's colors are off? I thought I would test the accuracy of the copies in the store rather than buy a printer and return it only to be charged a restocking fee. Something that Office Depot tends to hassle you about. Well, after making six copies on various machines (some faded, some out of ink), I was accosted by an employee (amazing how that is the "only" time they are around) and told I didn't pay for the copies and could not keep them. He never looked at them to see what they were. He just kept repeating in a stern voice "give me the copies!" What? Did I run out of the store with a laptop? I said, "No problem." I told him why I made the copies and even showed him on the copies how the HP's were tinted yellow and the Canon copies were faded. He didn't care. He even tried to take the book I made the copies from. Strange. They don't want you to return their products "or" test them. And here I thought I was helping us both out. Note: I'm 51 years old, decently paid (well, maybe not so decently, but you get my drift). So why would I steal six lousy, faded copies off an ink jet printer? Hello Staples and Bestbuy.

rude customer service and poor return policy
I purchased a laptop from Office Depot with an extended warranty and owned it for less than a week. I was having problems with it and contcted Lenovo. If trying to resolve the issues, they detemined that I had a defective network card and advised me to return it. I went Office Depot first to exchange it. They said they do not exchange computers. The manager was very rude and could care less. I told him I only had it for a week and he then said if it was under 14 days, if I brought in my receipt and original box he would exchange it. They had no copies of consumer records in the store. I was so angry, I decided to return and go somewhere else to buy it. When I brought it back there was a different office manager more rude than the first one, I was told I could not return it. At first he told me I could exchange it but there would be a 15% restocking fee since I did not have the original packing material. I only had the box it came in. Then he told me he would not even let me exchange even though it was defective since I had taken it out of the box and there was dust on it and he was sure that it was not defective. I was so disguted. I will never go back there again.

Office Depot lied and say that I only sent one proof of purchase
I purchased a computer and monitor on July 1, 2005 because of the advertised rebate I decided to purchase the bndl. I did everything that I was supposed to do in order to get the rebate. I mailed in both proofs of purchase and they said that they only got one of the proof of purchase, this is impossible because I copied them both to the same piece of paper. When I checked the rebate site and found that my rebate was rejected I could hardly beleive it, that Office Depot would actually lie and say that I only sent one proof of purchase. I sent them both, I made sure of it.

Office Depot Cancels Order without Good Explanation
I bought 2 small cases of paper (5 reams per case) with a coupon code online and had selected to pick it up in store. The paper was on sale and so the coupon code made it a very good deal. When I went to pick up the order in store, I was told that the manager had cancelled the order. I received no email (and still haven't days later) saying the order was cancelled. I was offered to buy it at the sale price, which wouldn't really make it worth buying as other office supply stores had comparable or better deals. I was also struck by the way the situation was handled when I went to the store. The man behind the counter at the Orders/Pickup area looked at the order and then called somebody (presumably a manager) and then walked to the middle of the store without explanation. He was looking at someone in the back of the store, nodding as if getting instructions (he was wearing a bluetooth headset) and then walked back over to me to tell me my order was cancelled because I couldn't use the coupon code. I left the store without pursuing it further as I didn't detect that there was much effort at customer satisfaction at this store.

My thoughts are that if an order processes online with a coupon code, it should be honored. If you spend your time going into a store to have a manager arbitrarily cancel an order, I don't feel like it is worthwhile to have a business relationship with that store, and possibly that company, anymore. Being a manger of a company, I buy a lot of office supplies and obviously get excited to get a good deal on something now and then. Getting excited about a deal makes me want to shop at the same store again and again to see what other deals I might run into, while also buying things at normal price. I really do wonder what a company, or store manager, is thinking in creating such a rift with a customer as to just cancel an order and not even bother to try to smooth out the reason why. I will never shop at that store again as there are way to many other office supply stores that have policies that are more geared to my liking.

Worklife Rewards card
We have never gotten Worklife rewards card credits for discounts on purchases although this account was opened well over a year ago. At check out during my last purchase(this week) questioned the check out person when and how I would know what I have acquired.
She couldn't find the account in her system even using my phone number and that she would give me another card with a new number.
Today I called Office Depot. Was told I would have had to emailed more info after getting the card to activate my account(had never been told this for first card and have not seen anything that tells me that I will have to do this for the new card)
In today's call, I was passed to supervisor who repeated the same but offered to help if I gave her a different telephone number than the one she had from the lost account, to start the process. I don't have another phone number.
I re-stated that this was their error, not mine and that I had receipts from last year and this, with the original card's member number imprinted on them.
"Sorry, can't fix without new phone number and records don't go back further than this quarter"
The several hundred dollars spent for inkjets in this small business will now go elsewhere as well as any larger purchases and I will be only too happy to share my experience with anyone headed to Office Depot.

Terrible warranty company and service
I have just gone thru *** with Office depot and their warranty company and still am not finished. We sent off a laptop 6 weeks ago for repair. We had an extended warranty and a accidental damage warranty. It took 6 weeks for the repair company to decide it wasn't economical to repair. They wouldn't even return calls to the local office depot manager. The warranty company says they don't replace the laptop only issue a gift card to buy a replacement and that takes at least 10 days. I've dealt with bestbuy numerous times for laptop repair and replacement. They've always repaired in less that two weeks or if couldn't be repaired, they just gave me a new laptop. Office Depot is in the stone age of customer service and needs a new warranty company and repair company. I would never buy from them again. Office depot doesnt keep any of their purchases on record like best buy does. If you don't have the paperwork they can't look anything up.

Customer abuse
Went in to the home depot to buy a wireless expander in the morning and found out the model they sell was out of date and needed a firmware update to possibly be compatibly with my router... well I went to return it after I found that it wasn't a crappy piece of equipment and found that the store had a policy that states the customer CAN'T have there money back even though i bought it just one hour prior to returning it. I felt so sick to my stomach when they kept saying "company policy". When I told the manager he lost my business, he smiled and said "that's okay, we have other customers".. this made me feel sick as they smuggly stand their and rob you with their "company policy"

I tried contacting corporate via phone and email and I never got a response. It seems to me this company doesn't like their customers.

If I am going to spend my hard earned money with a company, they better make an effort to make me feel welcome. Instead, office depot thinks all their customers are criminals and will laugh at you if you tell them they lost your business.

Funny thing is, I was a loyal customer and bought all my business supplies there... they lost thousands in sales, business and referrals from me.
