I was going through chemo about 7 years ago and wanted to take my car in for an oil change and tune up, I was not really feeling that well that day and they asked if I wanted to wait. I told them I would prefer to go home because the chemo was making me feel sick and they could call me the next day when it was ready. I went in the next day and took my car home. I thought all was well until I went out to start my car the very next day and it wouldnt start. I called the pepboy and explained to them there was nothing wrong with my car when I brought it in and all of a sudden the day after they did oilchange and tune up it wouldnt start. They proceeded to say that it started to get home and I could get it towed to them and only if I could prove that it was them they would tow the car free and repair it for free. I told them I did not have the money to tow it because I was on disability and they repeated that they would not charge for the towing then emphasized ONLY IF I COULD PROVE THEY MESSED IT UP. I then called in a favor of a family friend who used to own their own shop and they really didnt have the time to work on it but I said I had nothing but time since I was sick and a few months down the road found out that the reason for the problems was that when pepboys did the tune up switched the spark plug wires which in turned burned out the plugs and was the reason why I was able to get the car home. I wrote the corporate office and heard nothing from them. So I will NEVER even if it was the last repair shop on earth EVER spend not even a dime at pepboys ANYWHERE.
