A friend and I were having soup and salad at Olive Garden. She noticed a curly gray hair floating on top of my soup. I notified the waiter, who in turn notified the manager. The manager appeared at our table and I told him of the hair. The waiter had removed my soup. I asked the manager if his kitchen employees were not required by health laws to cover hair, whether it be head or face. He remarked that cover is provided. He never agreed that health law requires it. And he made no apology for the hair in the soup!!! I thought surly he would adjust my tab but when it was delivered, there was no adjustment. No more Olive Garden for me!!! Later I was talking with someone who works in this particular Olive Garden in Mobile, Alabama. He told me that no one in the kitchen abides by the health laws concerning covering hair unless they know that the health department is due to make an inspection. Perhaps I should call the health department.
