Respected Sir,
I am Mrs Angalina Pereira, residing in UK, was back from India after 6
weeks holidays had a very bad experience at Bangalore airport on 11th June
2011`, i was at the airport 4 hours before time but waited outbside the airport
for the oman air informations to be displayed on the screen, to my bad luck there
wasn't any informations on the screen about oman airways and i was getting
nervous when it was getting late for check in...i went to the main enterence
around 06.40 hrs to enquire, the officer asked me to rush to the oman air
counter for immidiate help as the flight was on time at 07.10 hrs...i went to
request the officer at the office and he carelessly said that he can't do
anything because the gate was closed and to get back to the next flight after
paying the penalty...i understand that part of my mistake but there should be
proper flight details on the screen out side the airport for the passengers to
follow, i have been flying last 16 years and this is the first time i have
missed my flight with silly mistake...the officials were so unhelpful, later i
have to beg for any telephone number so i can re book my ticket for next flight.
was supposed to be at work in Uk on 13th june but i could not make
it because the next flight was on 13th from India to Muscat and to heathrow
London...i had telephone the oman airlines on 11th saturday to re book my
ticke and the lady over the telephone said that my ticket is confirmed and she
will email me the ticket details which i never recieved, she even gave me 2
telephone numbers to contact incase of any problems about the ticket and at the
airport, so i have to call one of the numbers given, 09916979301 in the early
hours of 13th to confirm my ticket it was around 03 hrs...the man who answered
the phoneMr.Sajith was so irritated by my call and he said that i disturbed his
sleep...any how i went into the airport paid Rs.5498 as a penalty to fly that
day...even on 13th june there wasn't any informations about oman airways
displayed on the out side screen...which i reported at the counter.
I had travelled all the way from coorg district with my old
mother and brother who came to send me off has to stay in a hotel for 2 days,
this caused mI can understand that its my fault that i did not go straight away
e and my family a great physical, mental and financial strain, i have to spend
around Rs.10, 000 to catch the next possible flight. i do understand that it was
my fault that i did no go inside the airport straight away but it was the gave
mistake on your part that nothing about the oman airways flight details were
displayed on the screen to follow.
I hope that you can understand the great stress, loss of time and
money caused by this mistake, i will be ever so greatful if you consider my
request to discipline the system and compensate some of my financial loss, hope
