Omni Financial Reviews

Brian J. (Wisc) June 29, 2011
Lessons Learned, NEVER again
Certainly thought they would make things better, at least they talk a very good game. I owe about $14, 000 which once is paid off, will include interest and penalities. Before Omni Financial (OF), I agreed to pay the state of Wisconsin $600.00 dollars a month, which hasn't been a problem.
Along comes OF giving the song and dance, that the $600.00 is alot of money, and they could get that lowered due to the fact that my overall bill will include penalities and interest, which they could get eliminated. I paid $1200.00 dollars to OF, and they did temporarily stop my payment that was due with the state. I provided them a post dated check that was cashed early by the way. This post dated check was supposed to give me time to check them out to make sure they were legitimate.
In the meantime, I was also owed money from another state that I have been trying to get resolved for a few years. The state of Illinois owes me about $2200. It's been a nightmare trying to first, get a hold of someone, and second, getting them to respond. I've sent my revised taxes several times, and everytime I get a hold of someone, I get "nothing has been entered in the system", or "can you resend them" to this place, or that place. We're talking about the year of 2007, so as you can imagine, the statue of limitation will come into play when a state owes you money. About six months ago, I threw my hands up in the air, and was like, I'm not going to bother, I'm done. Well, this was great news to OF, in my opinion. They wanted me to continue to try and get this money from the State Illinois (OF contacted them as well), while they would continue to work with the state of Wisconsin to get my pay lowered. Keep in mind, I had to send my revised tax information(I have to do the leg work on this) to Illinois, who I've been dealing with for a few years already, so I know this is going to be a problem.
After several weeks of being told pretty much nothing(OF did reach out to the State of Wisconsin informing them that more time was needed), I was informed that an additional $1000.00 was needed in order for OF to continue their work. Of course this didn't sit well with me, so I fired off a letter to OF and asked, can you get my bill lowered, yes or no? The answer was no, because based on my income and my bills, I could afford the $600.00 monthly payment. According to an assistant of the guy I was working with at OF, the states and OF use the same guidelines for trying to work out a payment plan. So long story short, I paid OF $1200.00 and didn't have to pay the state of Wisconsin for the months of April and May, which would've been $1200.00 for those two months. The $600.00 payment resumed in June, and I still have the same interest and penalities that have been assessed, and that will accrue once I'm done paying.
So you be the judge? Had I not asked if they could get my pay lowered, I have a sneaky suspicion that every six to eight weeks I would've continued to get a letter informing me that I need to pay an additional $1000, or some other amount, for them to continue their work. And I will be calling the Attorney General's office in West Palm Beach at the number provided (561-837-5000) in this thread. If nothing else, it will be another complaint.

Took my money and ran
I contacted Omni for help. They had to have a deposit of $5, 000.00 and said that my tax problems would be settled by the end of the year. Low and behold, 3 years and another $20, 000.00 later nothing was settled. They wanted another $5, 000.00 just to continue negotiations. So now I'm seeking another for help and hoping this one will work. I am very upset about Omni and am all for a class action suit.

Complete Criminals
I am a victim of Omni Financial like many others on this site. Something must be done and I believe now is the time. What a scam. After years of being lied to and scammed out of more money than my actual tax debt even was my brother and I stopped in the office to see denim short wearing mountain dew drinking loud music playing young people on the phone soliciting more money out of poor suckers like me!!! Lawyers, my dog has more law experience. A Federal judge and the FTC just shut down a company exactly like Omni and I believe the time is now for a class action lawsuit. Let's do more than complain people. Let's get together and shut them down! Kevin Tibbles was the reporter in Chicago that handled the story and the lady who went after the other company was in Denver. If she can do it so can we. Let's get started. E mail me on here! Let's do it!

scam/fraud
Omni contacted me several times soliciting their tax lien assistance. They made several promises and followed with a work agreement for a fixed amount of $2000 to resolve specific tax work. They stated that I would not be paying any more than the $2000 to get my work completed. They wasted hours of their time and before realizing ANY completion of the work notified me that I would have an additional $4500 in order for them to continue working. They refused to complete any of the work they agreed to do on the work agreement, and lie constantly in their response to the BBB, even going so far as to say that I "admitted that Omni was doing a good job" for me! Nothing can be further from the truth. I am outraged that they make written agreements for a flat fee only to defraud and scam their clients. Their business scam is such a blatant ripoff. They were completely void of any honesty and good work ethic.

Phone Harrassment
I have been contacted by Omni Financial several times even when asking not to call my company anymore. I have done lots of research to find this company cannot even pay there own taxes, how do they expect to lead me in the right direction. They keep calling and then show lack of professionalism by hanging up when they are not getting what they want. Advise, this company has poor reveiws and does not deserve to even speak with you. Call the IRS direct to resolve your issues or look into another company..Take the advise or waste your money.

Tax resolution
I am so stupid. Omni financial approached me when I was scared out of my mind because the IRS had placed a lien on me. Jason in sales explained how their company works with the IRS and that they could reduce my amount owed and work out a payment plan. I am looking at a bankruptcy, loosing my car, my house, and then Omni pointed out my bank account. You can, t run from the IRS and the Omni(salesman) assured me that they are on my side, they deal with the IRS every day. I scrapped up the fee $2700 and believed I had purchased an all inclusive service. I finally felt free of fear and built up a relationship with Kristen Battle who assured me everything would be fine. Lori "Your case is easy!" Unknowing that every phone call was a billable hour. The worst part is theovernight delivery of a bill saying in order to continue they need another $2000. I had know idea! Stupid, stupid, stupid me I received an itemized bill that was padded. Basically, they did what I could have done. Can, t even imagine what they charge to actually help you. Awe, I could have sent that money to the IRS. Truly they are a wolf in sheeps clothes. They aare the worst kind of human beings. Praying on the weak and desperate I am right back where I started but at a loss of $3000. I wish I had read this page and pray that know one else gets scammed. BEWARE, BEWARE, BEWARE! They are predatory do not believe a word they say! Lori Lucey Atlantic Beach, Florida

fraud
My husband and I hired Omni Financial to take care of our ongoing tax issues. My husband had his wages levied and we turned to them for help. They asked for a payment of $5000 in 2 installments of $2500. They sent us all the paperwork for us to sign and we were working with them on our issue. We were told the levy would be released in a week or so. Well we worked with them for about 2 months and come to find out from the IRS they did not hand things in on a timely mAtter so therfore our account was denied with the appeal and the levy remained on his pay. They are a scam and just want to take your money and not do anything about your tax issues. I do not recommened anyone to use this comapny as they will take your money and run. We have contacted the IRS ourselves and have made out better and found out that things we sent Omni in the past that they said they needed were not sent to the IRS. So basically I guess they kept all of it for their own records to make us believe they were working on it. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!!!

Fraudsters and cheaters
I hired Omni Financial
to work on abatement of penalties and/or interest with the IRS. My $3, 500 retainer was used up, but nothing was done for me as promised. I used to be a paralegal, and I know that nothing is ever a guarantee, but at the same time, I expected that some change to our financial situation with the IRS would have taken place as a result of Omni Financial working on our behalf. Omni has done nothing at all to change or help our situation with the IRS!

Nothing, neither positive or negative, nothing! I was promised by the initial Omni Rep. who contacted me that my $3, 500 retainer would be sufficient as a flat fee to complete our abatement issues with the IRS for our back tax debts. Even though I have been told that my entire retainer has been depleted (and I never was sent any billing statement until after the fact!), nothing has been done to either resolve or improve our financial situation at all, or even change it from the way it was before Omni was even in the picture!

IT IS EXACTLY THE SAME! I could have stood here and burned $3, 500 and been the better for it! Omni (Rachel Gillette, Esq.) has done nothing on our behalf at all, except a lot of 'padded' billing (which I just today received!) and wasted time not doing what I requested. Both myself and my CPA have done everything so far, and Omni has not helped at all, but yet has used up all of my $3, 500 retainer. Omni Financial is just another financial scam created to dupe unsuspecting consumers out of their money, and I have had to learn a very expensive lesson here.

No part of our initial request for abatement of penalties and/or interest for our back taxes with the IRS has been resolved at all. I have also had to re-explain quite a few times this same request a few times, as they were not always on track with what I needed them to do: the IRS abatement only, and not any State obligations. The only winner here has been Omni, because they got my $3, 500, money that I didn't have to just throw away. And I have nothing to show for that money, no change at all to our situation. I have really never been so taken advantage of before.
