Took care in to have motor mounts checked. My engine would lurch when I put it into "drive." Later that day, while driving away I notice my car shaking. It's after closing time but I called anyway. Owner tells me shaking is normal, rubber on motor mounts are hard...it's going to take some time and not worry. So I just figure it's a chick thing and I'm being over sensitive and what do I know about cars right? My car ran so smooth prior to taking it in, sometimes I didn't know it was running...yes, THAT smooth.
1.5 months later, still shaking so bad I took it to a muffler shop because my muffler was banging on the bottom of my car. Muffler repair guy showed me the motor mount... it was not the right motor mount and it wasn't even bolted/screwed in. It was just sitting there. Then he showed me the motor mount UNDER my car. Totally shot, never looked at.
The bad motor mount under the engine is what was causing the "lurch" when I put it into drive. The motor mount that had no bolt put everything else under stress.
I took it back to One Stop Auto Care in Colton to find out which motor mounts he worked on (my invoice said "1 motor mount and 1 transmission mount" at the tune of 300.00.
He shows me the mounts he fixed - yep, the one that's just sitting on the frame is one of them. I tell him I'd like a refund (because at this point he's been rude, arrogant and arguing with me - AFTER admitting it was the wrong part and that he'll fix it but it's going to cost me for him to fix the motor mount under the engine...)
He refused to refund me. His parting statement? "I'm in this business to make money not lose it, I've already put enough money into fixing your car and I'm not giving you a refund"
I will never go there again. I have never left reviews for mechanics before, it was THAT bad of an experience. I wish I had known.
I'm not only leaving a complaint here, I have taken photos and will be contacting the BBB in our area.
