For anyone who has recently been charged (unauthorized) by either Landmark Clearing or Ongua (obviously an abbreviation for OnGuardId) please call 1-800-454-5303--where you will be answered, no doubt, by someone who either speaks heavily accented English or is barely able to speak any English. I just did and got my so-called "account" cancelled, also informed that the charge was non-refundable; I was given a cancellation number. I informed the "gentleman" that the first hit on my bank account, in the form of a phony check, has been turned over to my bank's fraud account and it is being pursued; I additionally informed him that this second direct debit is also being turned over to my bank's fraud account. I hope that enough people will complain to their banks, and whatever state/federal agency is available, that some governmental action will be taken. I intend to pursue this further--the money was small but large to me as I am retired and can ill afford to lose it in that manner. The "gentleman" said I had signed up for this in October, 2008, which I did not--they obtain information somehow from other internet activities individuals pursue--just the impetus to be more careful--and he was very indignant when I called the operation a scam. Luckily I withheld my quick temper and did not describe the operation in more secular language which would have been most befitting.
