I am from Chennai and own a Onida Microwave oven(Model 25LTS22). Two months back the oven was giving problem as whenever it was switched on, the entire power supply of the house trips off. I registered a complaint through the customer service centre.
An executive named Jayabalan from Adonis electronics, valasarawakkam(authorised service centre) came home on 6th March 2010 and checked the oven and told there is no fault in the oven and asked us to check electric lines.He collected 350 Rs as service charge and told us that in case if the electric line is having no problem, he will fix the problem in the oven and he will not take service charge again.
Next day I checked with building elcetrician and found there is no problem in the line. We checked in other houses also, the same problem happened with this oven.
We called customer care to send the executive, they gave new complain number.
The executive came home again and checked the oven again and informed us that he has to change some part and will bring the spare part once it is supplied to him.He did not turn up till 26th March 2010. When we called him, he asked us to bring the oven to Valasarawakkam service centre.
We gave the oven at the service centre on 26th March 2010. On 10th April 2010, the oven was given to us back. The executive informed us that the problem is rectified and they have changed few parts like diode, relay etc and charged as 800 Rs.
But in the reciept there was no details like what they are charging the money for or what parts were changed. It was like a duplicate rent reciept. We fought with the service centre and asked them to atleast mentioned the parts modified. Also the machine was tested just for one minute with a use and throw paper cup with water. The service centre people didnot even had any suitable vessel to test whether the oven works well. They said that for ovens they donot have anything to test and asked
us to bring it back if we face problems again.
A worst service centre I have ever seen.
Now one monthlater on 14th May 2010, the same problem has occured and we are not able to use the oven. I called the customer care and registered a complaint again.
The representative from Adonis(Iyappan) came home and told this time some parts have to be changed and it will cost 950 Rs. When we argued that same parts were changed during last service in the last month, he says there is no warranty.
We called the service centre manager(Ravi) and talked to him. He said that we have to pay additional 800 and take AMC to avoid repeated charges. After argument he asked us to pay 850 totally for the parts and the AMC.
I dont know whether Onida is running service centre or something else.
I informed the representative to go away and told him that I will put a formal complaint to Onida directly.
I am fed up with Onida services and decided never to buy Onida products or recommend to anyone.
Never ever buy a Onida product in Chennai atleast or else you have to end up going to this stupid service centre for any services.
