Online Advertising Reviews

Biggest Scam in Online Advertising
Very high cost / lead acquisition, company tries to impress you by providing auto generated reports.
Their focus is on getting the maximum $ amount they can out of you. They do not refund your unspent advertising dollars. They should be categorized under Collection rather than Advertising Companies.

SCAM
We were enticed to "try" their program at the first month free (they still charged our credit card $300), and the 2nd & 3rd months at half price.

The first month, they claimed to have over 200 clicks on my ad -- which resulted in NOT ONE phone call, not one new patient. I called to find out the story and decided it was a scam, so immediately canceled my account.

That was 6 months ago. I just received a phone call from a collection agency that CitySearch claims we owe $628!!! When I submitted my proof that we had canceled the account, the collections agent said it doesn't count until CitySearch CONFIRMS cancellation -- which they never did!

I have over 50 emails between me and CitySearch trying to cancel this account. So they don't confirm cancellation, then they can send you to collections!

BEWARE EVEN SIGNING A CONTRACT WITH THIS SCAM COMPANY!!!

Charges for unwanted service
As soon as my new business telephone was installed a received a call offering free on-line advertising for 30 days FREE of charge. I was promised 3 phone calls and an email confirming I would like to continue service before any charges would be made. I never received the phone calls or the email, however, when my phone bill came for the next month I received a charge for $99.95. When I called to have the charges reversed a very rude young man informed me he had a voice recording stating I would be happy to continue to the service and I understood that I would be charged $99.95. When I received the voice recording it was of someone phoning to tell me about the FREE service. No one asked me at any time if I would like to continue the service and I NEVER agreed to any charges. In the voice recording there is a very quick (almost quiet) reference to calling a number, I number I could hardly understand on the recording to cancel. This is a pure and simple example of grabbing money from unsuspecting new businesses.

Fraudulent Sales Tactics
SCOTT BARTH and PHILIP MCGAHEY are two very good con artists when it comes to selling the alleged 'online marketing services' by Yellowpages.com. Both of these clowns "PROMISED" that our online listing with Yellowpages.com would receive an average of 2, 000 - 3, 000 page views per month. THEIR OWN MONTHLY EMAILED REPORTS CONFIRM THAT WE HAVE BEEN RECEIVING ABOUT 2% OF WHAT THEY PROMISED!

I have a witness that will testify against them when we file legal action both with the Washington State Attorney General's office and in civil court that they stated that www.Eukopia.com would receive hundreds of inquires for our services each month based on the thousands they allegedly receive for our product category. We received a grand total of 1 inquiry for $485.00 per month!

I told them prior to signing up for their services that I was suspicious of their claims and they repeatedly reassured me that their monthly fee would be more than offset by "...the dozens of new customers we would be signing up every month..."

Essentially they've committed what's known in CIVIL LAW as 'FRAUDULENT INDUCEMENT' and 'FRAUDULENT MISREPRESENTATION'; essentially where a sales person (or CON ARTIST) will say whatever they need to, including EXAGGERATING and LYING, in order to close the sale.

This type of high pressure sales practice absolutely makes me sick and I will see that these guys make full retribution for their sleazy con artist scheme.

Further, I requested that they immediately cancel the contract and pull our ad down from their site TWO MONTHS ago as well as cancel any further billing. I called our bank today and found out that they illegally debited our business account again as the billing date in the agreement is for the 10th of the month, not 1 day sooner! They sneakily debited our account on the 8th, in direct violation of the billing agreement.

Any respectable business with a valued product and/or service would not need to coerce people and/or businesses into signing into long term arrangements if they delivered what they said they could. The bottom line is these guys are desperate to make a sale because they have an inferior online advertising program and cannot effectively compete with Google, so they need to embellish and lie to get people to sign up with them.
