Cannot use the card and they will not refund money
I purchased a $400 card for my daughters trip to Europe. They activated the card and then wanted Drivers license (she is too young), ssn (not required until she is 18) and a utility bill with her name and address. The card did not work and they have promised me refunds twice.
Now they say they changed policy and she has to spend the money on the card. But they wont activate the card because we don't have the 3 items they demand for her identity check.
The Vons store won't refund the money and Visa 1 refuses to return the money.
DO NOT BUY THIS MONEY CARD UNLESS YOU HAVE HOURS AND HOURS TO TRY TO TALK WITH THEM - TO GET NOWHERE!

Unfair practice
The cover and the store brochure to not clearly advertise that the card can only be used by a person who is 18 y.o. I bought a card for my daughter for an international trip she was making. When I got home to register the card, the website asked for her name and birth date. I put in her birth date, it was accepted and I got a screen that said the card was activated. Just to make sure, I called the toll-free number. It was at that time that I was told that my daughter had to be 18 y.o. Because the representative entered her passport number, the name on the card could not be change. Neither I nor my daughter could use the card. The manager with whom I spoke said it was not her fault that I could not read the 0.25 font. I mentioned that the website let me register the card in my daughter's name even though I entered a birth date that clearly put her in the "under 18 y.o. category". The web site software let me continue to a point of rendering the card unusable. She, the manager, admitted that the software was flawed, but she could not do anything about it. After 40 minutes, they agreed to send me a check in 15 days!!! My daughter had to go on her international trip with pocket money only!
