Very unprofessional and unethical company - and we were dealing with the Owner who got involved once his sales reps dropped the ball a few times.
After ordering the incorrect front door, damaging our interior door trim and tile, the outdoor cement landing, and making a mess of the caulking (even encasing our doorbell), they took 4 months to locate the replacement tile, after we gave them the sku number twice and eventually had to give them a box count and listing of all the Rona's in the GTA that have them.
Then when they came to fix all of the problems, they fixed only the tiles and demanded payment (we didn't even have a window in our door yet!!!). We told them we would pay once the job was complete, so they accused us of making up problems and then charged my credit card without authorization, MORE than what was owed to them, and refused to refund the funds. Even after we showed them in writing the number of times we told them about all the problems, and where they agreed to fix them.
We gave them 3 more opportunities to come to the house to finish the job and refund the funds and would give them their cheque The first time they forgot all equipment, and the other 2 times the owner DIDN'T EVEN BOTHER TO SHOW UP!!!. We had to go to their head office on Steeles Ave, and spent an hour making sure they did it.
AND WE WERE WORKING DIRECTLY WITH THE OWNER AND VICE PRESIDENT!!! The VP on may occasions agreed how horrible a job it was, until of course the owner was present.
They also think it’s acceptable to use inappropriate language all the time. They made a huge mess in our home every time they did some work and made no effort to clean it. The one time they were asked to move away from the front door while cutting tile as it was making a mess and our guests' asthma was acting up, the VP actually told us off, using inappropriate language.
They also, on many occasions, made an agreement verbally and then refused to make good on their agreements. For example, they agreed to take the incorrect door back and order and install the one we ordered, which would cost $300 and they agreed to absorb that. Once we agreed they emailed us saying it would cost $1800 dollars!!!
The only reason we accepted the door they installed was to get them out of our home to put an end to this mess.
The only thing we liked was the garage door installation - which they subcontracted. No surprise that was the only good part of the job.
