Price Assurance scam
Price Assurance is not working….possible scam.
I booked a flight on Sept 9th DTW- AUS for $379 (total cost). I just booked the EXACT same flight for a co-worker on Dec 2nd at $335 (total cost) on my same Orbitz account. When I select my “Price Assurance” link in my account, both itineraries are listed, and both say, “Tracking - You currently have the lowest price!” …though one is listed at $379, and the other at $335. I spent an hour on the phone with a customer service rep, but they were not able to help me at all, even though they confirmed that all details were correct. They had no idea why it was not working. I even received a follow up email listing my current Price assurance reward at zero dollars.
I wonder how many other people are being ripped off as most are not booking the exact same flight twice…they have to have faith that Orbitz is being honorable and holding up their end of their guarantee. I have taken screen shots of all details and plan to spread this information and take action if necessary to stop their false advertising and guarantee.

False "Low Price Guarantee"
Booked a reservation with Orbitz on 10/25 with the understanding of the "Low Price Guarantee". Went to their site on 11/24 and saw that the same exact flight was $200 cheaper PER PERSON. Was told that since I booked hotel and flight together, no "Low Price Guarantee" could be applied. RIP-OFF. Do not believe their low price guarantee. Stay away from Orbitz!!

No reimbursement
For 2 years I have been asking them to return almost 7002 dollars...166.800 kuwaiti dinars...! they keep promising and making me phone them and then they do nothing! I was refused passage on a Gulf Air flight even though my seat was already booked by Orbitz and paid for by me...I did not have a paper ticket...Not my fault and I have the paper work to prove it..HOWEVER..Gulf Air claimed Orbitz was a fault...Orbitz seems to accept this but won't re-imburse me!! I keep asking for it...2 years later! What can I do?????

Don’t trust them
We paid the package with two air tickets to Kalispell $916.00 and car rental $582.83 on July 16th.However, budget car rent in Kalispell still charged us $401.82 again on August 15th. This must be a mistake!!! They should return $582.83 for car rental to our credit card.
If you don't check your credit card carefully when you pay it, you may be charged extra a lot.
Orbitz customer service ***! Not efficient at all. I called three times and didn't solve the problem. I will not use orbitz. Don't use it if you can.

Orbitz access America insurance scam
I recently used Orbitz to book 2 essentially identical trips from my home in Colorado to Vancouver, CAN. On the first occasion I then promptly received an email from some insurance company called AccessAmerica informing me of the details of my new insurance coverage WHICH I DID NOT RECALL ORDERING! So I called AccessAmerica and canceled the coverage. The second time this same thing occurred I realized that for certain that I had not selected insurance coverage, but I received it again regardless. Upon calling customer service and asking to speak with a supervisor, I was told that the Orbitz website selects the insurance coverage for me and that Orbitz's position is that it is my responsibility to unselect the insurance option. Needless to say I will never again use Orbitz as my travel services provider due to this fraudulent and misleading marketing tactic.

Don't use them
In June 2008 we arrived at the airport in Charlotte, NC for our flight to Chicago only to find that the flight had been changed. I had talked to a person at Orbitz the previous day who gave me what I thought was the correct flight information. We were never emailed or called with the updated flight information and we missed our flight to Chicago. The flight left 3 hours earlier.
Thanks to the Air Tran attendant we were able to get on stand-by for a flight later that day. However, we missed a whole day of our vacation as we were supposed to have gotten to Chicago that morning.
Don't use Orbitz!!

Don't expect they will help you
I booked a ticket from San francisco to phildelphia on 6/30 and i didn't receive my confirmation email. I called the customer service next day and the agent told me the booking didn't go though because i filled the security code of my credit card wrong. I will have to book another ticket. I double check with the agent to make sure they won't charge my first booking. The agent said since it didn't go through i won't be charged. So following that night i found another ticket from oakland to phildelphia since i also live closed to oakland airport. Just few days ago I found i got charged for the first reservation too. I called and talk to the customer service supervisor and she said it is because i filled my email wrong in the first reservation. She said i filled yahoo.coon. Anyway, they can't refund the money to me, but i can use the credit in a year. I just need to pay extra 150 rebooking fee. I learned that their customer service doesn't really help you, they just make everything worse. and now i am all broke!

Handling of canceled flight
I bought round trip tickets through Orbitz in early June for June 13 from Colorado to Wisconsin returning on June 30. Two days before the return flight on the 30th, I called Orbitz to let them know I had to cancel that flight. They assured me that I could apply some amount to another flight minus about $150.00. They assured me I would have no trouble.
On July 16th, I called Orbitz to apply what they owed me to another flight on the same airline (United). Though they said they had a record of my calling, they had no record of my canceling the flight. They even got a United person on line too to tell me no way were they giving me credit because I did not cancel within 24 hours. Now I know Orbitz says they record all calls so I am sure they have the recording of my cancellation but I cannot prove it. Why else do they think I was calling two days before the flight if not to cancel it. Anyway, the people were rude, abrupt, abusive and foreign. I will never, never have anything to do with Orbitz again. They should be prosecuted!!!

Stay away
Orbitz-same O:one week prior departure I find out that my flight is cancelled, time & money lost, no logic explanation, » customer service"-useless, just lie. Have all flight confirmation e-mails days after reservation, made a call to "customer service" three days after reservation to make sure everything OK, they gave me 100%.Two weeks later My flights with Delta - cancelled. Called Delta, they point to Orbitz. Two hours with Orbitz "customer service" representative and then they try to sell same flight tickets to me just 1000$ more per ticket(International flight).I guess they have a Right to Screw customers...

Paying 300$ for their mistake
Let me recount what a NIGHTMARE it was dealing with the Orbitz customer service staff:
I originally called a sales agent to book a new flight from OKC to Washington DC (July 3-July 6) in order to use a credit I had on my account from a previous cancellation. I would normally book it through the website, but I was forced to call an agent in order to use my credit.
I spoke with a girl and I gave her all my information and told her I needed a flight from OKC-Washington DC, leaving on July 3rd and returning on July 6th. She said there would be a $130 charge per flight off my credit due to some rebooking fees from my previous cancellation and charged my credit card accordingly ($280). I was fine with this as I understood the cancellation policy. She booked my flight and charged the price difference that she found for the flights. She then notified me I would receive an email confirmation of the flight details shortly and thanked me for my business.
Minutes after I hung up the phone, I checked my email for the confirmation. Upon reviewing the information, I noticed that she had made a HUGE mistake and booked the returning flight as July 5th, as opposed to July 6th that I requested. I immediately called back and spoke with someone in customer service thinking this would be an easy mistake to correct and no harm was done. I spoke to a customer service agent and was told that there was nothing she could do and I would be charged fees to correct her mistake. I then requested to speak with a supervisor and ended up with Marcello (MTO). Marcello opened an investigation regarding the matter and said he would call me later in the evening. Two hours later, he called me back and said he reviewed the phone call and that he understood that I requested July 6th, but that your customer service girl did not interpret it correct and booked July 5th as the return date. He then informed me that I would be charged another $150/flight ($300 total for the 2 flights I purchased) in order to change the return dates to July 6th. He offered the Orbitz fees ($30) to be taken off, but nothing else. He then tried to contact American Eagle and notify them of the booking agent’s mistake to see if you could get a refund, but informed me they were closed for the evening. I asked if he would contact them in the morning and he said the investigation has now been closed and offered no other solutions to remedy the situation.
This is outright unacceptable from Orbtiz. I have a hard time believing that they treat all their customers this way for mistakes that their own employees make. He wanted me to pay $300 for a mistake that an Orbitz booking agent made?
I have informed many friends & family members of their practices and recommended they cease doing business with Orbitz. My company also does quite a bit of business with Orbitz for travel arrangements. I have expressed to all my colleagues how disappointed I was in the Orbitz services. Needless to say, I am a very upset customer and demand that action be taken to correct this mistake immediately.
I have also filed a complaint against Orbitz with the Better Business Bureau, case #94183498.
