I bought and completely paid for an Oreck XL vacuum cleaner for $500.00 from fingerhut as I was moving to a new home and wanted a good product that would last. I put the vacuum in storage for 3 months while waiting to close on our new home. Upon using the vacuum dust was coming out of the cloth bag. Upon examination, the entire plastic device that holds the bag on was in the bottom of the cloth holder that was filled with dirt. Upon contacting Fingerhut, I was told by Robert who was a manager that there was nothing he could do. I asked for his entire name and the name of the ceo of the company. He refused and said he could not give out that information until I started recording the conversation. He put me on hold for 20 min. and came back to repeat he could and would not help me. I had to ask 3 times before I got the name of Brian Smith CEO, and he would not give me a way to contact the ceo. I have been a faithful Fingerhut customer for 20 years but will never use there services again. Robert Castle as he called himself was rude and uncaring as well as evasive about company information.I will tell everyone I know about there terrible service. In today's economy, you would think they would help the customers that still order. After all, I didn't ask for my money back, just a decent vacuum.
