ORI Van Lines Reviews

Ori Van Lines or scammers May 27, 2010
they are scammers
This company has very bad customer care and there very corrup. When I called the first time to get info the person was very nice they gave me a very good quote of 705 wich was a very good price for CA to New Orleans. But when they got to my house they just started taping up all my boxess that I had already taped my self. I told them they did not need to do that cuz I had taped them up very good my self. He told me there tape was beter an that thats what they always do. At that time he starts to try to get me to spend more money buy going with a flat rate cuz my stuff in hes eyes were going to way much more and even after i said no thank you he kept asking. By the time I go to chek on how thing are going i finde out that they raped my bad up in plastic an had already put everything in there truck. Then they tell me that I had to pay 100 for the tape, plastic rap for the bads, and laber for raping the bads. I could not believe this I did not ask them for any of those thing nor did i need them.To top that off now they say I have to pay them 70% when at first it was 60%. When I called to talk about it the manager Linsey was so rude to me an would not let me talk to any one else. She did not help me in any way. A week passes and i call to see what is going on no one answer I leave a msg no one ever called me back. I call back 3 days after that an they tell me that now we own then $1261 more. When I asked to speek to an owner they told me that he was never there and would not talk to me even if he was that, thats why there is manager. So all i could do is talk to Linsey once again. But this time she was yelling at me and hung up the phone on me. Never in my life have I been treated that way. I tryed to call other # to see if i could talk to some one else but she would always answer an not let me talk to any one else or some one would pass me to Linsey. My stuff tuck almost a month to get to me. When I got all my stuff alot of thing were broken all the boxes were smash an ript. I have tryed to called them an now no one is answering.

I guess it's my loss for trusting them
I moved from Santa Clara, CA to Philadelphia, PA in July. They arrived 8 hours late to pick up my belongings and delivered my stuff 7 days late. They said they would arrive 8am on a Sunday and they eventually arrived at 8pm. It was raining and they said they couldn't move my stuff all the way into my apartment so they just left it all outside, on the curb, in the rain, at night, by myself. Before they unloaded, they made me sign all the paperwork. I found out after the fact that I signed off that everything was received. Which it wasn't. They completely lost my bicycle, a mirror, a painting, and a chair. And they left me with a few of someone else's things that were also on the truck. And, most of the stuff was damaged. They wrote on everything, including nice lamps, with permanent pen. Some furniture was obviously dropped because the corners are smashed or now the frame isn't square. My TV stand was flattened. My computer chair cushion was broken off the chair. Many things had to be thrown away due to the damage. Other stuff was duct taped together... luckily I'm only a student and the permanent marker and scratches on everything is better than nothing for now. But it will all have to be thrown away when I move again... who is going to want such damaged stuff?

They 'searched' for my missing stuff for weeks and then finally gave up and said I had to submit a claim with a 3rd party. They were not apologetic at all. No word on getting reimbursed for anything that was damaged or missing. I guess it's my loss for trusting them.

Not to mention the 50% extra charges, $5/role to use their tape which they use very sparingly.

Bernie Madoff wannabees
"Ori Van Lines, Inc., is to the American consumer what Bernie Madoff was to the American investor! On March 27, 2009, I had to move from San Francisco, CA to West Orange, New Jersey. Like most people, I decided to check out their reviews. Most reviews seem positive because apparently a routine practice at this company is for their employees to write fake reviews. It's the only way they can still be in business. Anyway, I called the reservation line and spoke to Ms. Natalie Blatt who gave me an excellent quote of $975.00 for a cross-country move. I had no elevator in my apartment and two flights of stairs to carry household goods. The reservations office told me I would get two free flights of stairs for the move. However, in Ori Van Lines fantasy world, a flight of stairs equals (seven steps). They charged me for every extra step - total amount $225.00 - just for walking up and down stairs. I figured I didn't want to move the stuff myself so I agreed to the charges. The reservations office also told me that packaging would not be included in the price. I thought, no problem, I went out and bought about $100.00 worth of boxing materials. I spent a week with my wife packing all my fragile and not so fragile things in my boxes. The only things left after we boxed all of our household goods from a studio size apartment were cushions and non-fragile items. When the foreman showed up on the day of the move he told his workers to box everything that was not in a box. These were my cushions and non-fragile things that did not need to be packed. After the foreman had his way and finished packing all things he wanted to pack the price for (packing materials alone) came to $757.00. I don't know where these guys buy their boxes but maybe they should consider changing their provider. $30.00 a box sounds a little excessive. Also, the reservations department told me that I would only have to pay 60% of the price of the initial quote ($975.00) on the day of the move. Yeah right! The foreman that they send to your home on the day of the move, whose name is Joe, and is prominently displayed on the Ori Van Lines website wearing a grey shirt and looking like a nice guy, this guy is only there on the day of your move to con and swindle you into paying more. Case in point. When Joe the foreman arrived on the day of the move he shows me standard paperwork and goes over all the terms that I have agreed to with the reservations department. Everything sounds good at first, except he tries to squeeze in a on flight of stairs only offer, but I have him call the office and he reluctantly agrees to two flights of stairs. Then he has me sign and initial in all the places that he knows is necessary to complete his misrepresentation and ripoff act. This, of course, is under the impression that you are agreeing to the initial terms negotiated with the reservation office - 60% of $975.00. He leaves blanks throughout the forms with your initials and signatures. Then he says, "I have to go weigh the truck" to get you away from the forms and divert your attention. While he's out weighing the truck, his assistants keep boxing everything in sight. Then Joe the foreman returns with the truck and has the assistants load the truck. Then he decides he needs to revise the original estimate. Bottom line, after he loads my truck and it's waiting outside, and I have a cross country drive to attend to, he quotes me a new price of $2558.00 based on his visual inspection (not actual weight) of my items. I was surprised to say the least, I had never met anyone who could weigh things by sight! Go figure. Anyway, what do you think happens next? He calls the office, they tell him to take whatever I have, I write a check for $600, then they make me write a post dated check for $1244.00. Total - 60% of $2558.00. By the time my goods arrived in New Jersey, I had to pay a total of $2874.60 or Ori Van Lines would not ship my household goods. Ori Van Lines currently has 16 major complaints with the Department of Transportation & the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. They also do not have a license to operate in the state of California. The public utilities commission of California told me their status is "pending". They cannot move things inside of California and interstate moves are outside the jurisdiction of California. I don't understand they moved my things from San Francisco, CA to San Jose, CA? Ori Van Lines also has a fleet of only one truck. Your things do not reach their destination on their truck. Plus many of my things were damaged in transportation and they of course delivered late, but still Ori Van Lines claims they want more money from me. Go figure? I have been so affected by this, I started my own advocacy company against "rogue" movers. Buyer beware, this is a matter of public concern to all planning a move in CA or interstate."

They will screw you someway
This company quoted me on my move from California to Georgia last month and touted this website and another website named moverreviews.com and it was the strangest thing, I liked their ratings and all of a sudden I found ratings on another company named planet moving and everytime somebody rated ori van lines, at the very same time someone also rated planet moving, then I see another company getting rated named bestmoversca which after going to their website I found the email address was [email protected] which was all so strange to me and when I called and asked them to explain it they hung up on me. These reviews are ALL fake and company or employee written. Beware if they are that dishonest and can't earn business honestly they will screw you someway.

Bunch of crooks
This is definately the biggest scam operation of all time. they have posted hundreds of great reviews for themselves on the internet and once they get unsuspecting customers like me they rob us. They double charge you and charge you for packing and materials. This place is a bunch of crooks.

Fake company
I now realize that this company is a fake. I was moved by them and delivered over a week ago and not only did my price increase by over a thousand dollars but so many of my precious items were ruined beyond repair. This company is a poor excuse for a moving company.

Overcharged
This company IS posting fake reviews all over. I used them based on reviews from this and other websites and found out the hard way how bad they are. In short, if you use this company beware, they will overcharge you and make you pay for unnecessary packing and everything else they can think of.

Stay way from this company
We recieved a quote for a move from California to Virginia $2, 070. When the mover's arrived they stated we had more items then expected and the price went up to $3, 500. When the truck was packed the price now was $7, 200, not including packing material. What a scam. I would not us this company or recommend them to ANY ONE. Stay way from this company.
