Back in November of 2007 I ordered 2 oriental area rugs, one was delivered the other never received. I continuously called to inform Macy's that one rug was never received. After many calls to customer service our account was finally credited. At the same time after many calls and researching by many representatives, I complained that the rug which was received was shedding emincely. I was told by a manager that the rug was placed in a machine after being cut off of a roll and eventually it would stop shedding like a sick cat and to give it a few months to stop shedding. It has never stopped shedding, I am losing most of the carpet.
I have continued to call and I have spoke to many representatives who promise that they will handle the complaint by having a manager call me, no manager has yet to call. I was told that a very responsible manager named "Doris" would be sure to call, she never did. I called again and was told that the rug could not be returned due to the length of time that has past but a technician would call me to schedule an appointment to come out to see the rug. No technician has ever called.
I am being billed for this rug still after never having the complaint addressed. This rug has been a thorn in my side, it is very embarassing to see the balls of cotton shedded and scattered all over my new hardwood floors. The ball is continously dropped, no attention has been paid to my complaint even though the account has all of the calls noted. I go through the same conversation and process every time I call. My next step is to take legal action and I refuse to pay for this faulty product. It took forever for Macy's to track the store where the rug came from as it was Rug & Furniture.
I was told that the other rug had been delivered, however, there was no signature that it was received, someone scribbled on the pad. They however did credit the account after the store informed them that they had received a vendor credit for the rug some time ago. As I said, my next step is to take legal action as I feel totally bamboozeled.
