I would highly recommend NOT going to the office of Orlin & Cohen Orthopedic Group in Rockville Center, NY. They can’t handle the large patient load. The parking lot is way too small and dangerous. (Tiny parking spots are packed into tight corners between poles with no way around but tight u-turns.) There is poor accessibility walking in from a nearby municipal lot. (There is a long walk around a barrier, followed by a walk through the overly active parking lot.) The elevator is too small and at a funny angle which makes it difficult for clients on crutches or wheelchairs or even the elderly. There is a long wait for the elevators because it is too full to get on. Although the waiting room is huge, making it apparent just how large their clientele is, there still aren’t enough seats. Sick people must stand. The chairs are stacked so close that it is difficult to maneuver, or even fit.

When I was a patient, the wait was a normal time, but the doctor rushed me through in about 3 minutes. I didn’t even have time to compose my questions, let alone ask any.

Their “checkout procedure” is COMPLETELY UNACEPTABLE! There are only 3 seats located in the way of a busy doorway while up to 7 people must wait. I saw a woman in a knee brace sit in the storage closet and was told to move! I sat there for over an hour asking several times to be helped. I finally yelled and someone bothered to look for my file. Apparently they were finished with me, had put my file away, and no one even knew who I was.

I realize that inconveniences are inevitable, but these problems are to such an extreme that it is abusive.
