My son has a 1994 Toyota pickup truck that needed the radiator replaced. My ex son-in-law, Kendal Williams recommended that I have the truck towed to Ortiz Auto Repair. The truck had been at Mr. Ortiz's shop for over a month. Whenever I phoned to find out about the status, I was informed that they could not find the radiator. At any rate, I suggested that they contact Toyota to find out the exact dimension and which radiator would fit this particular model. I received two telephone calls on Tuesday, July 15th informing me that the truck was ready for pick up. On the 2nd call, I informed the young lady that I had a class that night and would not be able to pick up the truck until Wednesday, I asked if they accepted credit cards and she stated no, with no future explaination.
On Wednesday, July 16th, I got off from work, picked up my son and drove from Kennesaw to their shop in Marietta. Upon arrival, I was very pleasant with the young lady at the desk, introduced myself and proceeded to pay for the services. I pulled out my checkbook to pay the $260.00 fee. The girl at the desk started speaking in spanish to someone in an office and asked me what bank did I bank with. I informed her that the bank was Suntrust, at which time she stated that she had never heard of that bank and said they only accept cash. I looked around the room and their were no signs stating that it was a cash only establishment and that I would be happy to contact Suntrust and let her speak with the to verify the funds. The man behind the door started yelling and came to the door and stated that he would take the fu**** radiator out and I can then take the truck, and then slammed the door in my face. This really pissed me off that someone would act so unprofessional with a paying customer. I asked the girl why did she not tell me over the phone that they only took cash, when I asked about the credit card, she proceed to say "what part don't you understand - we only take cash". At this time, I am totally pissed and the disrespect from both of these persons. My son and I left to find a Suntrust bank and get the cash thru the ATM. I asked my son to hold the money when I got back in the vehicle; when we got back to the shop, my son got out first and still had the money in his hand. When we got inside, the girl at the desk was not there, so he knocked on the door and when the girl opened the door, my son throwed the money at the man "Jose" and told him don't every disrespect my mother again - things got pretty heated and the police was called. He came out to the front where we were awaiting the police and started cussing and banging his hands on the desk and requesting that we leave. I told him I was not leaving without me receipt and keys for the truck or my cash money. Other workers started coming into the office, making threats towards us, we then went outside and waited for the police to arrive. The police arrived and was told what was going on and made him give me a receipt and the key to the truck and we left. However, I think this could have all been prevented and handled differently.
