KEEP YOUR DEPOSIT SLIPS
I have deposited APRX $1, 300.00 in the past week at Centier Bank.I deposited the initial $1, 070.00 within the first few days, then went back days later and made 2 separate deposits equivalent of $280.00 in the same day as I wanted to ensure that I would have the funds in there to pay all of my bills out of "this" account, "I have another account at National City" but it's further to drive so I use Centier more frequently.I paid my bills with plenty of money left in my account to ensure that all of my bills would be paid in full.I awoke this morning and logged into my online banking at Centier.I was overdrawn, In shock at how this happened, I immediately called the 800 number. The person on the line reassured me that she would tell me where "I MADE A MISTAKE" HAHA.As I suspected she couldn't find it immediately and eventually found the glitch. My deposit said it was made a day later than I actually made it.Luckily, I keep all of my receipts and deposit slips.I had the slip in hand as I was explaining to the lady that this is not my error.Of course they don't want to hear that.I had to jump up, stop EVERYTHING I was doing as my days are pretty busy.I had to jump in my vehicle and run to the bank to prove that they made this mistake.Upon arrival at the bank managers office, she looked at my receipts and declared "oh yeah, I remember, the tellers register was broken that day so they just waited to add the CASH funds until the next day.Would have been nice if the teller had told me when her machine was faltering that my deposit would be delayed so I could have waited to pay the bills.I also would like to think that she would have moved to a functioning register and made the deposits that were to be made.I find trouble believing that the tellers machine was broken.I believe that these occurences happen quite often.Had I not kept my deposit slip, I would be owing over $100.00 at $35.00 a day until I noticed THEIR error.I actually wonder why I can't charge a "processing fee" for my time and trouble. In short, KEEP YOUR DEPOSIT SLIPS AND WATCH YOUR ACCOUNTS CAREFULLY.I am certain that alot of these "teller errors" go unnoticed as they have a way of convincing you that it was YOUR MISTAKE.In case you are unaware, Government has forced the banking industries to give you an option of whether you want "overdraft protection" which goes into effect August 15th.If you don't sign up for it, they can't force you to have it.In these times, you have to protect yourself as it is hard enough to work for a goal your whole life financially and do your job efficiently, to have some bank mess it all up and blow your hard earned money.Good luck and just stay alert and don't let yourself be bullied by people who are trained to do just that, as I qoute the nice lady on the phone at Centier bank, "I will be happy to show YOU where you made YOUR error".HAHAHAHA.Oh and by the way, I never even received an "I'm sorry for the inconvenience".
