We thought we were really going to get a good quality product with good quality service when we purchased our Owens Corning Basement Finishing System. Sure it was 5 times, if not more expensive than if we had it finished traditionally but the guarantee of service after the sale really sold us. Of course, this was not an issue when we experienced our very first problem no sooner than they had finished installing the system. Recently we noticed the material that covers the wall components was wrinkling. We contacted the company and they sent a man out who took pictures and said someone would get back to us. After we waited a month, we still hadn't heard back so we called again. I spoke to a representative and when I explained to her that I had not received a call back and she was even able to look in her system to confirm someone had been out, she assured me that a regional sales manager would be getting back with me. I let the remainder of the week go by and still no return call. I called one more time to let them know that if I did not receive a return call I would be contacting the BBB.
Believe me, while I will give it to them that it is a very energy efficient and no mess way to have your basement finished the cost and service after the sale does not in any way, shape, form or fashion provide bang for your buck. When it is all said and done with financing charges etc. we could have just purchased a whole other house.
Shame on your Owens Corning. I am extremely dissapointed and will make it my mission to let everyone in my sub-division know that I have this system and be a strong advocate against purchasing it.
