Non-Delivery of Household Goods
My situation is that my son and his wife decided to move to Hawaii where my home is from CA. I asked my daughter-in-law to check with the BBB in here area to make sure that the shipping company they would go with would be reputable and told her I would pay for it, which I did with my CC#. Well, I guess she wanted to cut this company Pacific Island Logistics a break and went with them. Well, it has turned out to be a nightmare. Their household goods were picked up on 3Feb11 in CA, and we were told that it would arrive before the end of the month.
This started constant calling at least 3x times a week all day long lasting until now and they still haven't received their goods to date. In the beginning, they were so accommodating until they received our money and then it was a different story.
Their excuses are: anywhere from 10min - 60min call back, boss is out of office, he is out on emergency, and no one can help you except for dispatch. Leave calls on answering service and no one ever calls back. During this time, my daughter-in-law misplaced her part of the contract and asked for them to send her a copy of it. She did find that original and they are the same in every way except for the one they emailed her has a stamp on it saying 25 - 85 days, something the original never had. (This also is in contradiction to what it says on the back of the preprinted contract she has).
They moved the household goods which included a motorcycle with "lo-jack" and we were notified via cell phone. So my daughter-in-law contacted the moving company to find out if it was the company or someone else that had taken the motorcycle and no one would take our calls.
Still waiting, I called the company myself and they said that if I did a charge back on the money I paid them that they would auction the things off the next day.
So we contacted the BBB which they contacted the moving company and when we called them again, said that they could no longer talk to us and would only talk through their lawyer, which they refused to give us the name.
Thank you,

Fraudulent Company
For everyone who has complained about this awful company of Pacific Island Logistics, here is another one to tack on the board. We scheduled our move early in December through Pacific Island Logistics for a quote of $4900. They sent a crew from ALL POINTS VAN LINES... go figure... to move our goods. I was at my new job in Hawaii and my fiance was alone at our home to handle the move. They did not issue her a revised estimate, they didn't tell her about any packaging fees she may encounter, and they forged her name as GENE (Not her real name) on several documents. They issued us a bill of $8932 after they were done, which was $4000 over our initial estimate which we had planned on. Over the next 78 days I waited for my furniture, going through countless phone calls and talking to the mysterious Tom Kinan over the phone. He was incredibly rude, consistently lying, and held our goods hostage for over a month. He told me that because I had filed a complaint against him that he couldn't ship our goods until my complaint was dropped and he froze all of our shipments. Thank God, I found the Department of Transportation in this matter. Over the next month, they were able to stay on top of him, he sent me the documents that Tom sent him, which were all false and not properly recorded, and he was able to help me get our goods even though their 65 day shipping window had expired. Their owner Tom even had the nerve to lie consistenly to my fiance over and over. Once our goods finally arrived, I had found out that there were people in Hawaii who had used this company who had been waiting for their goods for over 6 months. If it wasn't for the DOT, I don't know if we would have ever seen our furniture again. For all of you people moving out there, please stay away from these terrible human beings. If they continue to operate in this matter, I don't know how they can satisfy anyone... For anyone who doesn't believe they still use ALL POINTS VAN LINES... Here is the attached photo... 2/16/11

Kept my money!!
Tom Kay is a thief. I had to cancel after prepaying a move to Hawaii. I requested a refund since the move would be in California, which is also where the move originated from (later on I come to find out that they are not licensed to move in California at all). They use different company names that are even on my receipts and then tell me they are not affiliated with these companies or know who they are. When trying to get a refund, Tom used every possible threat he could come up with, saying he didn't care if I was moving to the moon, there will be NO refund! When I finally was able to get them to deliver to my address, they would not give any bill of lading or receipt proving they had only moved me to the Ventura county next to theirs, which is LA county. That way I have no paper trail to prove what happened. Tom says, do you have anything in writing??, then snickers! He said he will never refund the money and if I call again he will block my phone number and take out a restraining order against me! Also, when the movers finally came in a beat up rented Budget truck, he said I had an "exclusive truck" and the cost was about the same as before, so there would be no refunds whatsoever! To make matters worse, as the movers were unloading, he called his employees (movers) on their cell phone, and told them to stop unpacking, close up the truck, and go and find a fax machine in my town. He was going to fax his workers a letter, and that if I didn't sign the letter, then he would have them drive my belongings back to him in the San Fernando Valley! The workers were afraid to lose their jobs, so off they drove with half my belongings piled in the driveway and the other half in the truck, just flying around everywhere! When they finally returned, here is what Tom Kay wanted me to sign in order to have the workers continue to unpack my things (keep in mind he had already been prepaid for a move to Hawaii!)
"This letter is to state that both parties mutually agree that after shipment is delivered there will not be any complaints filed, charge backs/disputes, or any further grievances from either party. After items are rendered both parties will be satisfied and move on. We have delivered her goods as promised and no further fees will be applied to her job. Mrs. Viterise is agreeing that all legal actions will not be further executed towards Pacific Island Logistics and Storage, INC for we have fulfilled our commitments. Pacific Island Logistics also agrees that from here on out will we not take any legal action."
Signed by Tom Kay 10/8/10
Well, as soon as they came back with this letter I called the Sheriff's office and a deputy came out and filed a report, looked at my receipts, and told those workers to unpack my things right now, otherwise they were robbing me right in front of him! I suggest you call your police too, if ever any moving company tries to swindle you with similar threats! Thank god I did, and have everything I need gathered to fight Tom Kay. I am now filing complaints with the Dept of Transportation, Public Utilities Commission, the Better Business Bureau, the fraud Department of my Credit Card company, Small Claims, and whatever else I have to do to get the word out about this company whether I get my money back or not! Mr Kay, you have just begun to hear from me. I will add that you pay 60 cents per pound for all these damaged goods you left me, and your "separate" claims department is YOU! You have no license in this state and should have allowed me another moving company to come get my goods from your storage, but you wouldn't give me a refund, so I had to let you deliver them here or I would have had to forfeit everything my family owns to you. You are rude and after dealing with you all this time, you act as inappropriately to say the least, hanging up the phone, threatening me, sending this letter telling me to waive my rights, breaking my things with big boot prints all over the boxes, the list goes on forever.
I also want people to know that Tom and his employees (Noel, Marcia, Augustine, etc) and you're new employees now, say you are not affiliated or ever were, with All Points Vanlines, Inc., or WPR (either Western Pacific Relocators, West Point Relocation, Inc, or WPR, Hawaii). Then tell me why I can search these companies and find an address on Glen Oaks Blvd in Pacoima. Tell me why some of these company numbers go to YOU, Pacific Island Logistics, and tell me why my receipt says All Points Vanlines, Inc. on it ?????
People, I wish I had done this much homework before I contacted this fraudulent company. Please look up all these names and DO NOT trust this company, or any company that has anyone named TOM KAY affiliated with them. Buyer BEware!!
Tom, give me my refund, because I have only just begun to fight you,
Katherine Viterise of OJAI, CALIFORNIA, formerly of FOREST FALLS. Yes, you remember me.

Horrible service and Manager
This company is a scam it will be the worst thing you ever did if you chose this company to move your goods to Hawaii. The worst part about the company is the manager who is running the place Tom Kay. He is the biggest jerk ever who is disrespectful to the people who are making him money. He is a liar who tells me over and over he is going to hold my stuff and sell it if I don't pay him. BUt how I'm I suppost to pay him when its been over 70 days and I still don't have my goods. He is the biggest a** hole ever. Do not trust this company. Save your self the time and go somewhere else. This company is a fake, scam, and the manager is un-mannered 22 year old jerk.
