My car was making a strange noise so I took it to Pacific Motor Service in Monterey.
The owner, Kevin, told me it was a serious engine problem and would cost $3200 to repair. I told him I wanted to take it elsewhere for a second opinion. He told me it was a safety issue and refused to let me have the car back. I threatened to call the police and finally he handed me the keys.
I took it to another mechanic who fixed the problem for $215. The second mechanic also told me it was not an engine problem OR a safety issue at all.
The second mechanic also showed me where the mechanic at Pacific Motor Service forgot to replace several bolts/screws on my engine components and left them sitting on top of my filter pan under the hood.
