I ordered a used replacement axle for my 2003 Mercedes Benz, confirmed via fax, 6 emails and 4 phone calls what part I needed.
The invoice said it would fit, but the part was mis-marked and did not fit. It was too large on one end by several thousandths. When I called for refund, they agreed for a 100% refund AFTER I paid to ship it back. I said why should I pay for shipping when the wrong part held up my repair at the auto shop AND tied up the mechanics rack for a day, causing me additional delays and expenses.
I have disputed the charge on my CC and we will see who wins the dispute. Additionally, I found them (the part) on Ebay, contacted them via phone to confirm part. In clear violation of ebay rules, they encouraged me to take the deal off Ebay. This has me without the PayPal dispute option. PP almost always favors the buyer. No wonder they wanted the deal off Ebay. They can get away with mistakes and customers get screwed.
Now, they are accusing me of swapping out their axle and filing false claims. What would be my goal in doing that? The shaft that my mechanic found cost me no more except tax and works great. Be careful in dealing with them. Very arrogant in defending their shipment. They actually told me "They do not make mistakes" Pointed to the invoice which did show the correct shaft, But I could have shown the right part number on an invoice and shipped my grandmothers rocking chair.
