Back in August of 2009, I picked up a pekingese from Pam Slocum's residence. I selected the puppy and was told by Pam that she was the runt of the litter which at the time was fine with me. The puppy was born in June of 2009. When I went to pick up the puppy, I was told that the puppy only weighed one pound and I expressed my concern that I felt the puppy was too little to take and that I would wait a few more weeks. I was told the puppy was healthy, wormed and would be fine. Wanting the puppy badly, I took her against my better judgement. On our way home, I noticed the puppy making wheezing sounds and immediately called Pam to report this problem. She told me it was because the puppy had never been outside and that it was probably something in the air. I took her to the vet the next day and she was given a comprehensive exam which cost me $114.50 in addition to the $350.00 I had already paid to Pam. The vet said the puppy was too small, did not weigh enough. I was sent home with instructions to feed her with an eye dropper, give her lots of liquids, pedialyte etc... I was up all night for two weeks taking turns with my husband watching her and feeding her every two hours. Meanwhile, I reported all of this to Pam and she insisted the puppy was healthy when I got her. I gave her my vet's number but she never called the office to find out about the problems the puppy was experiencing. The puppy got worse and died two weeks later with a diagnosis of hypoglocemia and a subnormal body temperature and distemper. She was placed in an oxygen tank at the hospital and given more glucose but died anyway. Another bill of $113.20!
I called Pam to tell her all of this and requested my money returned for the cost of the puppy which was the original agreement and advertised on her website, but she refused. She said she would give me another puppy but did not have the money to return to me. She said "I can't give you what I don't have". As a last resort, I had to take another puppy but she refused to deliver it to me so my husband and I had to drive quite far again to pick the new puppy up. Her website advertised delivery but she refused. I offered to meet her half way but she would not. I will never recommend Pams Little Angels to anyone. I regret doing business with Pam. E. Allen
