Towing
On January 21, Jessica (the woman who answered the phone) failed to enter the correct number of days for safelisting and I was towed. After filing a complaint with the BBB and contacting the HOA, Patrol masters finally sent me "copies" of their citations they claimed they issued - a month and a half after I first asked for them. They never left the citations on my vehicle, and therefore, I never knew I was not safelisted. It seems that these citations came out of the blue only as a last resort to deter me. The only document I received was from the tow yard which indicates dates other than what they claimed for "non-safelisting." I have the cell phone records showing the call was made to safelist, but they won't budge on admitting their mistake. Has anyone had similar problems? If so, have you made any progress with them? I'm debating small claims court at this time.

Unnecessary Towing + Fees
This neighborhood requires that you "safe list" your guest's vehicle for overnight stays. I've been a guest here many times, and I've adhered to the practice of calling in my truck. This past Saturday my vehicle was called in, yet the Patrol Masters operator did NOT enter my information into their system. Result? I got towed at 5 AM, had to pick my car at 7 PM that night, and pay $280 for all of it. Patrol Masters has no record of the phone call, so now I'm involved in a battle with them to prove I'm in the right. Fortunately the cell phone used to make the call shows the call in its history, so this is my greatest hope in proving my "innocence." I won't take this without a fight.
If Patrol Masters is going to be this negligent, then they'd better be ready for a heap of headaches, or just do the right thing and refund my money and apologize.

Pervert
I am fifteen years old and I travel through a neighborhood on my way to school in the morning. Me and my friend stopped there today to eat breakfast because school didn't start for another hour. This creep comes out of a Patrol Masters car and starts walking around us for about fifteen minutes. Suddenly I feel his hand on my shoulder and he turns my body fully around and starts screaming about how we're not supposed to be there and he's going to arrest us both if we don't leave the area at once. He didn't even ask if we lived there or anything (which we met one of our friends who IS a resident there). So we leave and I turn around and this man is checking both me and my friend out, head to toe. I've never felt so harassed or violated so we called Patrol Masters to make a complaint. They didn't take us seriously because we're kids.

Illegal Tow
Patro Masters places more than one citation in a 24 hr period, resulting in a TOW in just over 24-36 hours...when our HOA has a 72 hour max parking rule. I picked up my towed car and foound 3 tickets placed on my car in one night. Look closely at the citation numbers printed in red, and the dates and times. The three tickets were in SEQUENTIAL ORDER, but dated the 30th, then 29th, then 30th, ALL placed on the vehicle on THE 30th. TYPICALLY THEY GIVE MANY CITATIONS IN ONE NIGHT AT DIFFERENT HOA's..so the sequence should be staggered NOT in sequential order if they were actually placed on the car on different nights.
Another resident on the Board also received 2 citations in one night, had he stayed another night he would have been towed. Again in just over 24 hours hours.
So when a error occurs...who pays the towing fee...us. I will pursue with Patrol Masters directly than if they do not reimburse, I have been advised to file small claims for $260.00 towing fee.

Notice of Violation Issued
I received a Notice of Violation for "Non Movement of Vehicle: stating that This Vehicle is now be4ing monitored. After a specified period of time, the patrol officer will check back on this vehicle and if unmoved, this vehicle maybe towed at the vehicle owners expense. THIS VEHICLE IS MOVED EVERY DAY ! It is driven to work for a period of 8 - 10 hours each and every day. It is however parked within the same 3 spaces every night due to the size of the truck. How often does it have to be moved ? According to my HOA Rules and Regulations for parking it has to move within every 72 hours ! That is 3 days ! How do they know if it has moved if they don't mark the tire, do they take pictures ? Perhaps they should come out during the day and check to see if it has moved. While they are at it, they could tow the other vehicles that park there on a daily basis that either live or work in the building next door to ours. They DO NOT have a parking sticker, and they are NOT Guests of any residents at this Building ! Is this not part of what their duty as a Security Company is ? That is what is stated in all of the paperwork I received when I moved in as a new tenant. I am trying to submit this but cannot because it will not give me a complaint code ! Clever...

Illegal Towing of Vehicle
I had my vehicle towed from what the Security Co. said was an "undesignated" parking spot. This has resulted in my losing my vehicle to the tow company as I could not afford to pay the fees. I have several witnesses that have stated they were wrong in this tow, as well as pictures "I" took of the space, not just the pics they Security Guard took, which did NOT show all angles of the space and my vehicle parked there. I also have my Landlord who came to look at the space state they were wrong, and a letter from them stating this. Also, several other tenants of the building have said that this has happened before, and that the Security Co. was wrong in their action. Although it has been over 30 days since the incident, I have started legal procedings to get some type of compensation for the loss of my vehicle. The Company also has signs posted on the property stating that if we have any complaints about NON RESIDENTS AND NON GUESTS OF RESIDENTS parking on the property (basically they are trespassing) to call and they will come out and ticket or tow the vehicle, we have called several tlimes as people who live in the building next to ours park there EVERY day as well as surfers who come and park for the afternoon and THE SECURITY COMPANY WILL NOT COME OUT ! That is false advertising and a false sense of a "Secure and Safe Living Structure". This Company even prides themselves on having a good relationship with its customers. Well swallow your pride because there are SEVERAL unhappy tenants in this Building !

Security/Towing
I currently live in the Monaco Townhouse Community in Anaheim, CA. I came home from a family party on a Friday night, at around 3:00am. Due to the holiday, my neighbors trash cans were in front of our garage and we decided to part outside in the visitor parking lot. When I woke up the next morning, my car was missing. In a panic, I called the police department because I thought someone might have stolen my car. However, I found out that my car had been towed by my own association!!! I called them quickly and the patrol company informed me that they towed because I did not have a permit. Yes, that is true I did not have a permit-however, it states that we are supposed to receive a warning, which I never did. In fact, they stated that I had two warning- two months ago, that I was apparantly sited/warned about. THIS IS NOT TRUE!!! I was never warned or sited and in fact, I rarely park out in the visitors parking. I just think this is crap. I never cause problems in the community and I always safelist any visitors vehicle. In fact, my roommates car has been out in the visitors parking for two days with out being safelisted and has never received a citation or has not been towed! I really feel that the inconsistency in this company doing it's job is ridiculous. Basically it doesn't make sense that they can tow one person and the person that is sitting right next to them in the same parking lot-who has been there for two days with no citation, doesn't receive one and is not towed!!! Someone really needs to do something.

inept
Patrol Masters is just like any other security company: they are able to get away with not performing regular, diligent work, so they just don't do anything. Their owner even said "what do you want me to do, tow cars?" in response to a request to tow cars in violation of code!
Lazy (they have been known to take up to 3 hours to respond to noise complaints). Inept. Crooked (they will email homeowners in violation and allow them a 'second chance' in violation of the HOAs, rather than cite and tow).
Patrol Masters does not earn the money they make from HOAs.
