ANONYMOUS LIES
The man who wrote the foregoing "review" is not named Johnson, and he is not telling the truth. Anyone who has ever used an attorney would know that just by virtue of the fact that no one is ever "locked-in" to an attorney. Mr. Johnson (whose actual initials are ADB) had the person he hired after me send a letter to the California State Bar making similar claims. He said I did not disclose fully, I told him I was taking a different amount, I tricked him into signing this, etc. Right in my file were documents that proved ADB was lying. I sent them to the State Bar and they closed their file and notified ADB's attorney that they were not pursuing this matter. Not because they were protecting me; the California State Bar does not protect attorneys, particularly one-person firms. They recommend disbarment, suspension, public reprimand, and private reprimand all the time. They closed their file because I proved ADB was lying. He is still lying and hiding behind anonymity.
Shortly before trial was scheduled to start, I had to get out of the case because ADB had become verbally abusive and even more difficult to deal with than he had been all along. Judges rarely let attorneys out of a case shortly before trial. The Judge we went before said that she would not have let me out if it was just about money, but it was not just about money. It was obvious that the relationship was so broken down as to make it impossible for us to continue working together. That is the only time that has happened in 25 years of practice. And as far as taking liens on Clients property? I have done that less than 5 times in my 25 year career. Because I am telling the truth, I am willing to use my real name. Paula Glickstein.
