Hi
My name is Emma Nicholls and I live in Australia.
I purchase a bag off eBay which was stated to be authentic. When I received the bag i still thought it was until someone suggested I look online and they thought it wad not a genuine Louis Vuitton. After investigating I decided to put a claim through paypal as there were items both on the bag and what it came with that gave me doubts.
Paypal accepted the claim and told me to go further I would require a certificate stating that it is not authentic. After phoning Loyis Vuitton I was told no companies supplied these. I phone paypal back and notified them of my findings when they suggested I use My Poupette as they deal with paypal regularly.
I jumped straight onto the site, paid my $125 for a certificate and sent all the necessary information and photos through.
After a couple of days I had still not heard anything besides them noticing that they had received payment.
Over the next 3 weeks I sent 5 emails and have still not had a single response from this company. I phoned paypal every couple of days updating them on the situation. They kindly extended my deadline by a couple of days in the hope I would receive the certificate.
Paypal have now closed my claim and were not willing to give me an alternate option besides the certificate.
The bag was $780 and now with the certificate costings I am now out of pocket over $900 and this has caused me extreme stress and worry over the matter.
I am not sure of my options and would grately appreciate some assistance as I would like this to be resolved and hopefully be able to get my money back.
I feel I have been unfairly treated by paypal and since making some personal investigations have come across others who have had issues with this same website. It is unjust that paypal be suggesting this site to people as it gave me the hope of paying $125 would have my claim settled and it would get my money back.
I am considering going to the Australian police on this matter also as the seller stated the item and authentic when it is in fact not.
I have since purchased an authentic Louis Vuitton from one of their retail stores and when purchasing you do not receive any authenticity documents. Especially not the plastic cards I was sent with the fake.
Please email me and notify of my options.
Kind regards,
Emma Nicholls
