Closed account debits checking account
In February of 2009 someone hacked into my Paypal Account and made thousands of dollars worth of unauthorized transactions which PayPal took out of my checking account. Of course, my checking account was drained dry and I ended up with many bounced checks. I closed the account, never to return to PayPal! I also closed out my checking account.

On January 7 of 2011 someone again hacked into my PayPal account which has been closed for nearly 2 years! They gained access to my new account and the same thing is happening all over again.

Amazing, PayPal will authorize transactions through a closed account. Interesting that when I went to access my account I couldn’t as it had been closed. PayPal should really be avoided at all costs (no pun intended).

Ebay Not Recognizing PayPal Account
I have been using the same PayPal account on ebay for several years now. Here recently my ebay account has been telling me that it does not recognize any of my Paypal login information, I am being told that it is not valid.

So I set up a new PayPal account only to find that I cannot use my credit card on it, due to it being linked to my old account which is not working properly.

Even when I reset my password on my old account, the emails never come through to the address at which it is registered.

I am therefore unable to use Paypal to make Internet transactions, which is also resulting in my ebay account being suspended.

Horrible Phone Center
My bank account is not connected to Paypal, the bank credit card doesn’t work, and it’s a 2 week wait for the Paypal credt card—which I have decided to cancel.

I spoke to 5 different people, all of whom were stupid, cheesy, rude and couldn’t do anything at all—for 2 and 1/2 hours. No resolution at the end of it. None of them spoke decent English, and barely seemed to understand me. I repeated my problem and had to re-state all my information countless times. How many of these weird people have my SSN? Nobody did one helpful thing.

I hate cheap offshore call centers, but this one is by far the worst. By the way, is anyone connected with this trying to get the FTC to investigate Paypal and make them follow the same rules the rest of the world has to follow?

Says transfer complete, money not in bank
Most of you are told that it takes 3-5 days for a transfer of funds to your Bank from Paypal. This is like the old saying “push the button and I will get Paid”.

Paypal Deposits funds being transfered through the Federal Reserve in BATCHES. I do not know what the denomination is or what days they deposit, but your money will show up under your “Transaction Item” when the money is deposited, and depending on your account it may take your bank 3 days to deposit- but not mine.

So I am caught up in waiting for my money to actually get deposited when in fact Paypal says it has been deposited. Paypal will probably make another 2% on all of our money in the batch while we wait. That is wrong.

Unauthorized Transactions
I too was a victim of unauthorized charges and deposits from my PayPal account. I am in communications with the victim associated with this deposit and I have since sent my issue to Mr. Scott Thompson/Paypal President demanding both transactions be reversed. I was able to block the ACH from hitting my bank account, but the deposit was supposedly held.

However, the victim states this money has left his account. I never received this deposit. This is quite strange that Paypal would allow this type of activity to the disadvantage of their loyal customers.

Now they are stating that I owe them funds to cover the resulting negative- not gonna happen.

Requests outrageous letter for proof of dispute
I bought a 256GB USB drive (Kingston) on eBay. I paid immediately. Later eBay sent me an email telling me that this seller was reported as selling items that may not be authentic. EBay closed the seller account and removed the item list. I couldn’t access seller information nor the item information that I bought.

In eBay’s email, they gave instructions what to do next, which was to file a dispute with PayPal. I proceeded with the dispute and filed it under “Item Not Received”. About a month later I did receive the item, tested it immediately and it turned out to be only a 4GB chip instead of the 256 that it was supposed to be.

I reported to PayPal and changed my dispute to “Item Not As Described”. After a while, I received an email from PayPal stating that they needed a letter with a “letterhead that includes the name, signature, address, and phone number of an individual, business, organization or unbiased third-party such as a dealer, appraiser that is qualified to determine that the item is not as described”.

I stopped breathing for a minute and tried to think where can I get this complicated letter done. And it has to be done by 9 days! Its almost like PayPal just doesn’t want to refund, and came up with this complicated letter idea to make me go away. I tried to explain that I can’t do this in such a short period of time as I am a very busy person, and I don’t know of anyone who would give me a letter of this kind along with proof of their identity when I didn’t even buy the item from them.

I even offered to send the item to PayPal as proof, but of course they didn’t want it. I attached the email eBay sent to me, they didn’t care about the email. They reiterated that they care only about this letter that I am supposed to somehow come up with in 9 days.

I asked for the sellers information as the person is my direct litigant, and PayPal will not release the information to me. I wanted to take a legal action by myself, but PayPal is protecting this rogue seller instead of me, as the buyer whom he ripped off.

I have now closed my PayPal and eBay account. Thank you for PayPal Complaints, now we all can let the world know and be aware of these companies eBay and PayPal. Because of the PayPal Complaints web site, now I know that I still have another chance working with my credit card company and get my money back.

Be careful, a lot of fake things are sold on eBay everyday. There is no way for you to know before you buy. And after you buy, you will never get your money back even they know it is fake. Forget about the protection programs they tout in order to tempt you to sign up with them. They get their fees and their commissions.

Denies unauthorized transaction
I have a bank account linked to my PayPal account. When I made a payment of $1.99 yesterday on an ebay purchase, PayPal deducted $1.99 from my ebay bucks as well as $10.99 from my bank account.

However, PayPal is saying they don’t have any record of the $10.99 they took from my account. PayPal also said they cannot do anything about it, and that I should file a dispute with my bank.

If PayPal did not take the money, then who did? Could PayPal leak my bank information to some hacker who took the money in the name of PayPal?

2 Month old Account Limited
I am a seller on ebay and opened a new PayPal account in November, I have nearly £2000 in my account. Paypal asked me to verify my account, and was waiting for the verification deposits to go into my bank before. Today i realized that my PayPal account has been limited, so I called them up and asked them why this was done.

I was told that there are two issues- firstly, a friend of mine sent me £60 which was owed to me, and the other issue they claim is that I have had too many complaints. I have 100% feedback on my ebay account and no complaints, so why would they want to close my account? I have read other people complaining in this same situation, and I beleive PayPal is just taking advantage of customers like us and wish someone was able to look into this matter. It seems like no one can do anything.

Buyer chargeback after swapping parts and returning item
A customer purchased a satellite receiver, only to return it three weeks after buying it. The security seal on the receiver was broken, and the electronic card reader was swapped with a different one. The buyer then starts a PayPal dispute claiming that “the item was not as described”. PayPal has completely ignored our written and photographic evidence and refund him for the receiver anyway.

We complained to PayPal about the matter only to receive a patronizing, standard email that does not address a single point that we raised.

Needs 3 year old code to verify credit card
Because I used the same credit card when I signed up some years ago, PayPal wanted me to verify the card by referring to a code sent in an e-mail in 2008. Who even has the same computer they had 3 years ago? After being sent in circles for several days, I finally talked to a real person who said, “Just use a different credit card.”

Why didn’t they tell me I had that option in the first place?
