Holding my money
Paypal decided they need to contact my buyer to verify he was happy with my service. No good reason what so ever, and they are very unapologetic about it.

My buyer is not easy to reach, and the money I worked for and earned is being held from me for who knows how long.

The thing that really gets me is that a few years back, someone stole my ID and opened a Paypal account. When I called them about that, they would not even talk to me. But now for no reason at all they are holding my money.

I hate Paypal, when this is over I will NEVER use them again.

Can’t access my PayPal credit card online
I have not been able to access my PayPal Extra credit card online since August, 2010. PayPal credit cards are managed by GE Money Bank. I have called and written both PayPal and GE Money Bank. I have received nothing but excuses about “system problems”.

Now I have filed a complaint with the BBB in Silicon Valley and recently have filed a complaint against GE Money Bank with the Federal Trade Commission.

Buyer beware, when you call about your PayPal credit card you are calling a GE Money Bank call center in India. It helps to know the Hindi language.

I should have at least 70, 000 reward points. I have no access to these either. I see this as a case of fraud and I am pursuing it accordingly. I have a stack of letters sent and only one received. I have wrote the President of PayPal with no response. I would simply cancel the card IF I could be assured it would be canceled. At present all I know is that calling the customer assistance number only gets someone who sounds like the guy on the commercial named Peggy and it gets the same response seen on the same commercial.

I am extremely unhappy and dissatisfied with both GE Money Bank and PayPal.

Unauthorized transactions on credit card
I have noticed that several PayPal transactions have been debited to my credit card.
I don’t even have a Paypal account.

Paid for authentication letter, PayPal dispute still delayed
I was sold a fake Marc Jacons handbag on eBay. I had heard that PayPal required a letter from an authenticator if you were claiming a bag was fake, but I emailed them to ask if there was an alternative, since there are no Marc Jacobs stores in Australia (where I live).

On the basis of that email – which simply asked “if I go down the path of making a complaint, what evidence would PayPal accept?” – PayPal opened a dispute on my behalf and demanded I provide proof of my claim within four days. The only proof they’d accept was – you guessed it! – a letter from a Marc Jacobs representative. If I failed to provide such proof, they’d cancel my claim. Once it’s cancelled, you can’t re-open it.

Until that point I had a reasonable relationship with the seller, who was considering giving me a refund. However, once the dispute was opened – in my name – our negotiation totally broke down. If I didn’t win my PayPal claim, I’d never get my refund.

I called PayPal and had a go at them. They had the gall to say “well in answer to your question, I guess now you know that we do require a letter of authenticity”.

So I had to pay $50 for a professional letter of authentication. Three weeks later, PayPal is still “reviewing my dispute”, and I am out of pocket by $50 on top of the $316 I paid for the fake bag. Even if I get my refund, I’ll still have to foot the cost of the letter, plus the return postage fee.

Almost lost money
I gave an Ebay seller as much time as I could to deliver my item, as PayPal states they allow 45 days to file for a dispute.

The item never arrived, so I tried to file a dispute. However, PayPal said it was too late despite the fact that it was the 45th day, not PAST the 45th day, when I tried to file it. So I contacted American Express who promptly refunded.

The experience left me with negative opinion of PayPal.

Terrible service
We have spent two days attempting to get an issue with Paypal cleared up!

They entered a wrong payment method for us using an old checking account instead of our debit card. Therefore, not only will our product not arrive in a timely manner, but the seller will receive old information that will not allow a transaction!

Call paypal and have them delete the old info and process the new? Seems simple enough right? HA HA HA!!

Pay Pal has TERRIBLE customer service!! I have been on the phone off and on for two days without having our questions answered or finding a solution to the problem. If you think asking for a manager is the solution, wrong again. They will put you on hold until you hang up after 30 minutes!!!

NEVER ever again will I purchase through paypal!!

Photo ID required to close PayPal account?
PayPal I guess tried to send me a replacement debit card while I was deployed. Naturally I didn’t get it, so after replying to the dozen or so emails to activate a card I didn’t actually have I had to re-apply with a credit check to get a replacement debit card.

I then got an email that there was a problem with my account and to go the resolution center. In order to keep my account unlimited I now have to send in a Photo ID as the only way to verify my account. Ok, so I’ve had to update my password, verify addresses and account information, re-apply for a debit card with a credit check and now they want me to send them a Photo ID.

Well, I don’t use this account anymore and I haven’t for months. So now I want to just close it, instead of disclosing any more of my personal information to PayPal.

So I tried to call the customer service number, which I was only able to find by dong a Google search (the number I finally found is 1-402-935-2050). The Google search also revealed other frustrated PayPal customers.

Once I got a person on the phone, I was told that I HAD TO SUBMIT THE PHOTO ID IN ORDER TO CLOSE MY ACCOUNT!!! WHAT???!!

PayPal policies and some new Federal regulations still can’t/won’t allow me to close my account even with all the information I provided until I submit a photo ID. This is ridiculous and is it even legal?

I understand needing all that for opening an account, but to close it? This is taking “for security purposes” too far! I didn’t have to provide all this to open any accounts!

Refunds buyer before merchandise is returned
I had a dispute with an individual in Italy after a package that was well packed was damaged. The person put a complaint into PayPal and they froze the money for the item in my account.

The case went from December to February, and in the end PayPal sided with the buyer. They said once the item was shipped back to me and received, they would refund the buyer within 10 days.

However, the very next day PayPal give him all the money back, and I have yet to receive the package back from the buyer. I figure this is nothing but a BIG scam and that I’ll never see my item again, and the buyer will be using it for free.

I went to the PayPal site and there is no way for me to appeal the case. PayPal should have kept the funds from the buyer until the item was safe in the USA. What a racket!

I’d like to actually talk to a real person at PayPal and give them a good piece of my mind. This is NO way to do business!

Limited account because of old email address
PayPal limited my account claiming that another PayPal account was attached to my old email address. The thing is, I never attached any PayPal account to this email address, and it’s an address that is almost ten years old.

I called PayPal’s ‘customer service’ and tried explaining this to them, but their attitude was that nothing can be done until they get their money.

I’m a soldier who is deploying today and I needed access to those funds and these people could not possibly care any less.

However act is nothing short of criminal.

All this over $57
