Seller Protection is NON-EXISTENT
We offered clients the ability to pay for their beauty treatments (hair extension installation and hair) with their credit card through PayPal. This LYING woman, claimed 3 weeks later after she had gone on vacation and said for weeks how much she loved her hair, that she was losing strands and wanted the most expensive method that we offer, along with the hair FOR FREE!

I, wanting to retain the client and honing all of my customer service skills, explained that we could not offer that, but as a compromise, would do it over again, but with the same method. Her appointment was set for Saturday... This woman then went to PayPal on Thursday, and requested a refund!!! I could not believe it! After back and forth with PayPal, they said that they had no authority on the matter, and closed the dispute. Then, nearly 2 months later, I receive an E-MAIL stating that a charge back had been issued, and I OWE THEM!

She got free service for 7 hours of labor + materials + Platinum Blond Fine Russian imported hair and I OWE THEM! AN OUTRAGE! M. M. is a CON-ARTIST AND PAYPAL IS HER ACCOMPLICE! That company should be out of business. PERIOD. PERIOD. PERIOD

Unfair policies, poor service
Paypal is a NIGHTMARE to deal with!!! I, too, have had many of the same problems listed above. After years of dealing with them, they decided one of my products (which is perfectly legal!!!) 'violated their rules'. They told me to remove Paypal as a payment option, which I did. I removed ALL of the links from my eBay auctions. They reinstated me.

Then, a couple of days later I get an email saying I am yet again suspended. Turns out two buyers managed to pay via Paypal. I took a look at the auction link. Nope. No Paypal as payment option. I looked at the invoice. Lo and Behold, there it was. EBay (I'm assuming. Or Paypal...) had put Paypal as an option to pay!!! Even after I had physically gone through each and every listing to remove them and add another method!

I contacted Paypal about it, but they could care less. They said I was at fault!!! That I 'should have reversed the payment or refused it." WTF!?!? I didn't even KNOW they had gone through until AFTER they froze my account, which didn't allow me to do ANYTHING with it! I wrote them again. I called, had the rep look at the listing. (One guy even commented I had a line on there that said "DO NOT PAY WITH PAYPAL!") They still didn't care. What a bunch of jerks!!!

THEN, I requested my money to be mailed to me. That was a nightmare, too. Again, had to jump through all their hoops. Emails sent back to me were returned with an answer, but obviously they hadn't even read my emails. I finally wrote them back a final time, asking if they even read the emails they get. A final phone call to them did get action and they sent me my check, less, of course, their $1.50 'processing fee'. I've read about others that have had Paypal do the same to them and hold thousands of dollars for 180 days, too!

Oh, and in the meantime, I have a LOT of listings still pending/waiting for payment because of all of this, since I had to find a new method of payment acceptance and get the new account set up. But, eBay (who OWNS Paypal!!!) wants their commission money whether I've been paid or not. I wrote them to tell them the sales are pending and I haven't gotten my money yet. That without that, I don't feel I should pay them, considering they base their commissions on the final selling price. But I haven't gotten that price...and until I do, I will not pay them, since some of the buyers have already cancelled due to this mess! SO...now EBAY has also frozen my account.

Anyone know of a better online auction service? I need to find one!!!

Unless you have time and money to waste, Paypal is a scam
Unless you have time and money to waste, PAYPAL IS A SCAM!!! I have called in with the same problem for the FOURTH time today!! Once again a horrible experience!! Believe me I am a VERY patient, polite, reasonable person whom have never received such treatment from ANY company I have business with!! All I ask for is a CONSTANT answer! If they is one mistake made, fine no problem were all human BUT when you have the same problem FOUR times!!! THERE IS A PROBLEM!! Each and EVERY time I call in I am told something completely different then the previous agent! I can never get a concrete answer or even someone that SPEAKS PROPER ENGLISH!! I have been rushed, ignored, on hold for over a hour and a half, over talked, and transfer to Ebay WITHOUT my consent or resolving the issue only to YET AGAIN explain my story AGAIN and to AGAIN receive no resolution! Today I CANCELED my PayPal account and will NEVER use AGAIN!!

unauthorized money taken from account
I only authorized the initial $1.00 to be taken from my husbands debit charge card and there was an additional amount of $49.95 taken out even though the account was cancelled prior to the week expiration date. This payment was not authorized and if the money isn't replaced he will bring charges against the company and anyone else involved in this possible fraud. I have e-mails stating that the account was closed but still there was money taken out. Please respond to this ASAP so that no futher action is required. Thank you, Ms. Jacqualyn Berry (Jacqualyn Short). The ticket number is ST00003015...

hold balance for 180 days
Below is a message from PayPal:

"Since your PayPal account has a positive balance, all funds will be held
for a period of 180 days. PayPal will restrict the use of the funds in
your PayPal account to minimize the loss on any unresolved buyer
complaints, chargebacks, or bank returns."

"PayPal reserves the right to close any account reported to be involved
in possible high-risk behavior. Therefore, you will not be permitted to
utilize the PayPal service for your online payment needs in the future,
and this decision may not be appealed."

Although the above decision is unacceptable, PayPal has power to do whatever they want to do.

closing account
I received an email from PayPal: "due to the excessive risk
involved, we would like to begin parting ways in a manner that is least
disruptive to your business.". I called PayPal and they said it means my account is closed. How smart they are to close account in this way.

The so called "risk" is several people filed claims that they have not received products. They filed claims because eBay sent following massages: "Our records show that you recently contacted or received messages from office-mart through eBay's messaging system. This account was recently found to have been accessed by an unauthorized third party, who may have used the account in an attempt to defraud other members. "

Valued Customer
At Paypal you're a valued customer and have buyer protection...LMFAO!!! YEAH RIGHT!
In September 2009...I bought some shoes from what turned out to be a fradulant vender. I used paypal to make my payment. When I didn't get those shoes Paypal did NOTHING to get my $70 back...I had to go through my bank to get it...
In January I opened my own store and dropshipped using Paypal...they didn't like my business so they closed my account. I opened another personal account in March to use when online shopping. Paypal closed that too.
When I called to resolve all these issues, pretty much it was stated that Paypal didn't value me as a customer and didn't want my business. WOW!
I have done nothing but pay for items using Paypal. Appearently, if they don't like what you're buying (in my case...mostly shoes) then you're out!

Illegal Practices
The company does not provide an accessable means to close an account. Instead one is referred to circular phone and web-based applications that provide no means to close the account or referred to an 'account manager' which there is no means of identifying or contacting.

Buyers protection is a scam
I puchased 2 128 Gig Flash Drives from Ebay and they were fakes, so I filed a dispute through PayPal and they asked me to send back the items to China, not only was it expensive the USPS is not able to track the package which I'm sure PayPal had to be aware of so PayPal turns around and denies my claim because the was no delivery conformation, how in the world would there be a conformation when it's sent via USPS and handed off to some Chinese company to make the actual delivery, hell there must be a hell of a lot of people that ran into that very same problem.

Paypal refuses to look into the matter and then has the gall to say they value customers
I recently placed an order thru an online vendor who accepted Paypal . When I was ask to verify I could not find the pay options. Granted I should have just canceled the order but I was thinking I could just go over to Paypal and change the funding source.

Well when I went to Paypal it would NOT let me change the funding source. This was very important since I knew that the bank account it was tied to only had $7.77 in it and the payment would "bounce". I contacted Paypal and their agent assured me that Paypal would only take out what was in the banking account then it would take the remainder from my credit card. He said he was sorry but that they could NOT change the primary source even though I asked.

Well I didn't feel good about this so I sent an email to the company that I purchased the product from asking them to cancel the order. They didn't. Now all this took place withing 10 minutes of placing the order.

Well to make a long story short they submitted the whole $47.00 and the bank went ahead and paid it then billed me $28.00 for insufficient funds. I know, I am stupid for taking their word. I should have asked the agent how they were going to know how much was in the account. But the way he talked he sounded like he knew what he was saying.

What makes the whole matter worse is that Paypal refuses to look into the matter and then has the gall to say they value customers and to please call them before I cancel my account. Why? So they can tell me they are sorry? Fat chance!
