My Desktop Computer was brought to P.C.S Computer, Inc because I did not have a contract with an outside vendor. I figured its been there awhile in the neighborhood so it must be ok. My original issue with the computer was extreme slowness and not being able to connect to the internet - It was assumed I had a virus from my side ...
Immediatly they said they had to replace the hard drive - Wasnt sure why but thought they were the experts. When the PC was done - I noticed that my original 160 GB hard drive was replaced with a 60 GB hard drive but my receipt stated they put in a 160 GB hard drive? Also the screws that hold the casing over the PC were replaced with big random screws from somewhere or something else - not the screws that were original to my PC. The front power light no longer works either? They did Very very shoddy work. When the owners were approached of the issues - they accused us of replacing the drive with a 60 GB drive? Also they were extrememly rude and defensive and at one point said "Not to come back". Finally convincing them to fix what they should have done from the beginning - they put in the 160 GB hard drive, but of course never replaced my original screws or fixed the power light on the front chasee.
Also, the first time I got the computer back with the 60 GB hard drive they were able to pull my pictures and documents from the original 160 GB drive - When I went back to show them the drive size was incorrect and asked to see my original drive - they plugged it in and it was completely crashed with sometype of bad sector message? I asked why the replaced it from the beginning when I only had a virus and could not connect to the internet - they said because it was crashed ? If the original 160 GB drive was crashed from the beginning - please explain how they get my personal pictures and all my Microsoft Office documents off the drive and onto the new drive to begin with?
Another non truth from them? They do shoddy work and are very defensive when things are pointed out to them that are very valid concerns - I feel if it was never noticed that the hard drive they put in was the wrong size - it would have been left that way!!! How many people do they do that to I wonder?? Especially computer illerate people. Then to accuse your customer of switching equipement and denying the issue is even worse!! Really the police should have been called and a lawyer gotten ... I assume there is still time!
