Coffee Bean SCAM
Ordered whole bean coffee from Global Coffee Direct back in July 2009. Received the order and all was well. Four days later received another order (didn't request this one). Within the next 12 days received four MORE orders and ALL at nearly 40 dollars a clip. Contacted (and actually got to speak with a human) the company and supposedly I would receive a refund for the FIVE orders that I refused and sent back. Well, it never happened. Fast forward to November 24, 2009 and again on November 30, 2009 and I see that another company Seattle Coffee Direct has charged my account almost 80 dollars on each occasion. Never heard of this company, never ordered anything and in fact, never received anything from this company. Canceled my credit card to avoid future losses and low and behold I receive in the mail not one but two separate orders from another company called Cafe Saporito once on 12/8/09 and again on 12/16/09. Never heard of them, never requested an order and refused the product. As by now I'm sure you've figured it out. These three companies are owned by the same parent company, Peel, Incorporated. My bank is currently investigating, trying to recoup some of my loss, while I'm dealing with the rest of it. These unauthorized charges to my account led to an overdraft, costing my nearly 200 additional dollars in losses. Right now Peel, Incorporated owes my in excess of 500 dollars. It may seem okay to them to steal, but I work hard for what little I make. Fresh ground coffee is sort of a treat for me and I enjoy it. But not at 500 dollars a cup!!!
