Over Charged
On August 5, 2006, my husdband and I went to Peoria Kia to trade in our vehicle for a 2006 Kia Sedona. We filled out the loan application and were told that we could get into the Sedona, but the monthly payments would be more than what were wanted to pay. We explained to the sales rep that we just purchased a new home and couldn't afford the high monthly payment. He went and told his boss Michael Crawford. After talking personally with Michael Crawford and explaining our situation to him, he suggested that we refinance our house to make the payments more doable. Knowing that there was no way to refinance our new home, we told him that wasn't an option. At that point he told us to take the Sedona home with us and see how we liked it. He said that if we still thought we couldn't afford the monthly payments that we could bring it back without any problems. On August 21 we returned with the Sedona due to the high monthly payment. At that time we were out of a vehicle and were told that they "would see what they could get us into". At that point, we were told all that we could get into was a 2006 Kia Spectra. We weren't happy at all due to the fact that we already had one child and were expecting another. The car wasn't at all what we wanted, but we did want to lower our monthly payments. When we went to sign the paperwork, they had overcharged us for the Spectra stating that the List Price was $27171.16 when actually the sticker price was only $17771. They made us pay over $9000 for us taking the Sedona off of their lot for less than 20 days.
