My total household income is $674 from ssi.We have 4 elementary age children. In Feb. i had to get assistance from Lift to pay the e
lectric bill.I had already gotten my 2 week ext., from power company, and it was due at the time of assist. Lift payed all but $15.The next afternoon we get home and our power is off for not paying the $15.With 4 kids and a freeze advisory that night we have to go pay $45, 15 plus 30 reconnect to have heat for the night. The utility companies have no competition so they no they can do you whatever way they want and get by with it.But after checking into this i found that im not alone. These kind of things are happening to numerous utility consumers.Thankfully while listening to the radio the other morning, the state of Mississippi is passing a new bill to remedy this nationwide problem.
