I believe I paid for a front brake replacement that I didn't need and didn't get. Therefore, thinking I had received a front break replacement, I was driving on brakes that were 95 percent worn and needed new rotors. Here is what happened:

Feb. 5, 2008 bought 2004 Saturn Ion from daughter. She had Saturn check everything before selling me car. Saturn found breaks fine. Drove from Ft. Worth, TX to San Diego, CA with car. Heard sound at end of trip. Firestone, Express Tire, Banny Auto Service, all thought it was rotor making noise. At same time needed wheel stud replaced. Precision Tune Auto Care of Poway had coupon for stud replacement. While there had them check out sound. Said it was also rotor. None of these places, including Precision Tune Auto Care said there were problems with the brakes. After Precision Tune Auto Care had started the work on the rotor they told me they found an inner brake pad on one side worn so badly they had to replace the brakes. They said they hadn't seen if at first. They gave me a quote of over $300 dollars. I was very upset. I called Saturn and they gave me a quote for front brake pads with machine rotering included if needed. The quote was about $189. I told Precision Tune Auto Care the quote. They didn't believe me so I called Saturn again on the cell phone and Saturn told them the quote. So since I was going to have to pay for the machine rotor for $68 plus the brakes at Saturn if I took it there, I ask if Precision Tune Auto Care would match the Saturn price. They did except for the tax which was included in the Saturn price. I told them I wanted the same factory brake quality that Saturn puts in. Mileage was 74, 653 on Feb 18, 08 when front brakes replaced.

At 87, 998 on Oct 12, 2008 I got an oil change at Express Tire. My front brakes were found to be 95 percent worn and the rotors both needed to replaced. I needed front brakes again after only 13, 345 on what Percision Tune Auto Care said were their best brakes. I do not ride my brakes. I do not drive up or down steep hills. I believe the brakes did not need to be changed when Precision Tune Auto Care said they did and I do not believe they really were changed. I think I was charged for new front breaks I didn't get.

The only other time I had Precision Tune Auto Care work on a car was about a year earlier when I took a Dodge in for a repair. I no longer have the Dodge Neon and I threw the paperwork out. But while getting that work done I was told I needed other work. I had it done. After returning to my regular shop I told them what work was done. They told me they had checked that area very recently and the extra work didn't need to be done. I gave Precision Tune Auto Care the benefit of the doubt at that time but not this time.
