I went online to order the Perfect Button. I knew it was a buy one, get one free deal, so when asked if I wanted an additional set, I answered yes. I answered yes sometimes, no sometimes, and thought in the end, I'd see an order total that I could edit before approving payment. Instead, I got a total that was unclear of how many button sets I was getting, but my total was almost 50 dollars, instead of 10 plus shipping and handling. I returned to the home page, so I could redo my order. This time, I said no to everything. But in the end, I was brought up to a page which said, Thanks for your order! Then I realized, I was not editing my previous order. I was making an additional order!
I immediately went to the customer service tab to try to find my order and cancel at least one of them, but found my order was not in the system yet.
I called my credit card company to see if I could stop the charge. The charge was not in the system yet, so they could do nothing. They did recommend that I call the company first, but also recommended that I look on the internet to see if there was a public forum discussing the company.
This is how I found you guys. When reading one of the posts about how the consumer felt insecure with her credit card information being in the hands of these scam artists, I decided to call my credit card company back and inform them of the fraud posts and I cancelled my credit card.
I do not know if the order will go through, but I will try to call Telebrands tomorrow to try to cancel it. I told the credit card company that they did have a warning that I might not be able to get through to them by phone, so my attempts to make it right with them may be fruitless. Hopefully, the order won't go through, but if it does, my credit card company has been forewarned and I hope they will assist me in cancelling the order.
