For those of you who pay your bills online and perhaps pay a couple of days late read closely :
The permanent General insurance company "accrues" the number of times your late WILL report it to the DMV of your state as lapse of coverage. For example, If your bill was due 03/30 and you paid it on 04/01 that would be 1 day late. Then it will accrue for every month that you do this. I was late by a day or two each month for 2009 and 2010. In June of 2010, I was 6 days late. I finally got the coverated reinstated on 07/16...16 days later. They reported to the SC DMV that I was 44 days late at $5 per day fine. UNBELIEVBLE!!! I called the customer service dept and all they could say is "we have to report it". BULLSHIT. No grace period ???? Do you have to pay for a grace period ??? This company is a RIPOFF!!!
