Misinformation
I got into the Debt Resolution program with Persels & Associates in January 2009, shortly after my husband passed away. He was in a nursing home nearly 3 years and wiped out any money we had saved as I had to pay $1100 a month towards his care and now am owing the state of PA nearly $90, 000 in back monies towards his care. I feel that Persels was NOT entirely forthcoming with their information about taking money, lawyer fees and when they would start paying on my accounts. All along they told me they would take the money from my account, but that it would only be on month of fees for lawyers and at the point there was enough money in escrow, they would start paying my bills. Which I was told should be 8/2009. When I found out on 5/18/2009 that the lawyer fees would be paid for 18 months, totalling over $11, 000 and they were estimating that the first creditor (CHASE) they would work with would possibly be 8/2009 but that would change, I decided to withdraw from the program. On 5/20/2009 I called to withdraw totally from the program and asked for any monies back in the escrow, as there was $466.80 in escrow, and I was told that there was only .80 cents as they worked with a credit (NOT CHASE, but AGF) and they took $466 to satisfy the account. On 5/23/09 $466 was taken from my personal bank account made payable to AGF which then overdrew my account, instead of my escrow with Persels. I plan on making a complaint with Better Business Bureau and any place I can so that others do not fall into the problem I do. I am sure that other folks may have had a good experience, but I have not. And I am sure that there are others who may have had similar experiences that I have had...I just wanted my voice and my experience to be heard.
